One thing that confuses me is this cracked version of Ccleaner you see everywhere. If see no difference between it and the freeware version.

What is the purpose of using the premium version of Ccleaner? The time I installed it, I saw no difference of any kind. Even worse, when you try to update, now the updated one doesn't work. Why do people even run it?

Don't forget to make a trip to http://singularlabs.com (http://singularlabs.com) and grab a copy of Ccleaner Enhancer. It's an absolute must - the amount of raw garbage left behind by OS'es and programs is simply mind boggling.

Why use ccenhancer when you can download latest winapp2.ini from winapp2.com and also trim.bat.
Copy winapp2.ini to ccleaner's install directory, don't forget to copy trim.bat.
Run trim.bat as administrator and follow on-screen instructions.

Thanks for the tip. Still I need your help. I can't get trim.bat to work. First I get error messages when trying to download it, and when I finally do and run it as administrator, it doesn't do anything. Do me a big favor. Take your working copy of trim.bat and email it to me. You can use the email I have on there ([email protected]).

Are both winapp2.ini & trim.bat present in this location: C:\program files\ccleaner

Thanks for sending me this. I got it to work on my lappie, but on the desktop I'm having a problem. After doing "analyze" and closing Ccleaner, it comes back with a message that no update is available, then the whole thing crashes. UAC is disabled just as on the lappie.  :(

did you replace old winapp2 with new one I sent you?

Yes I did and it still didn't work. Trim.bat goes through the motions and prompts me to turn Ccleaner, click on Analyse and close when finished. When I hit any key, Ccleaner pops up again with a error message saying no update is available. Then trim.bat says to disable UAC despite the fact that it's already disabled, and subsequently crashes. It worked on the lappie despite the same settings. Go figure!

is there file named "ccconfig"? If so,try deleting that one and re-run trim.bat.

If possible delete ccenhancer folder and try re-running trim.bat file. Also make sure both winapp2.ini & trim.bat are unblocked which can be found in properties; Right click file -> properties

There is no ccenhancer folder. Ccenhancer is a single exe file that just sits there and doesn nothing until you need it. I'm not seeing any restrictions on winapp2.ini and trim.bat. Everything is normal, then it asks me to open Ccleaner, run Analyze and close it. After doing that, Ccleaner opens again with an error message saying no update is available. Apparently the crash happens when it tries to start ccleaner.exe /DEBUG.

Thanks for your assistance.

Man, this is turning out to be quite a headache. >:(
Does ccleaner resets to its default state after deletion of winapp2.ini file ? If no, type this command on command prompt "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe" /debug

That's the problem right there. When I enter this command, the same thing happens as when trim.bat enters it, i.e., Ccleaner comes up saying "no updates available". This happens even when you remove the winapp2.ini file from the Ccleaner directory.

Now that we know where the problem is, do any of you have a clue as to how to solve it?

One last try Humbert:
1. Disconnect from the internet/wifi .
2. Are you using windows firewall or 3rd party firewalls?
3. Pray for a while, run trim.bat in safe mode with networking.

I've been checking on Google and it seems this is a bug in Ccleaner. Others are reporting the same thing and there's no clear cut solution just yet.

CCleaner is a good program to clean PC. I used it since 2009.

I don't like the new version about the new window title.
