This isn't the first time Pakistan and India have clashed. If things get worse, I don't see how Pakistan can win. Forget nuclear weapons. Pakistan and India share a border, nuclear fallout will inevitably come back to poison your own people. With India's large population, the Pakistanis will simply run out of bullets -- they can't make enough to to kill all the Indians.

Dubai is the most depressing place in the world.
A place that depicts the image of modernity adopting the worst of capitalism & forged Islamic views.
It deserves to be named the prostitute of the Arabian peninsula.

Back home when I had the right to visit the two Holy Mosques,
I used to dream that one day, I will prostrate to Allah in Al-Aqsa mosque.
Now, I wish to just see the Kaba'a & visit the Prophet's Mosque & spend time there.
Madina is the only place in the world that I felt the most wonderful inner peace there.

People believe the wind exposing the structure of the Kaaba

the swarms of crickets invading the Mosque in Mecca,

and lastly, the vultures roaming above the Kaaba
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTmKSou3Lso

could be a warning of a coming wrath.

Others see this as mystical superstition
dismissing that MBS's spreading of all sorts of corruption on our lands
has anything to do with it.

Although it's known through biblical & Quranic history
that a certain powerful group of people
drive other nations to destruction
by challenging Allah with sins & bringing his wrath upon them

With such an answer you have climbed up a notch in my esteem.
In a documentary I heard the same thing about Dubai. The UAE (although still religious) is more driven by economics, foreign trade and development while the neighbouring countries like Saudi Arabia are more conservative and religious.

In any case, I think we have to leave the big towns. Well to be honest I'm getting bored in St Etienne, and if aa1234779 was inviting me in Dubai to play tennis and visit the town with Maher and Vasudev, I wouldn't say no.
You know, more and more people want to go back to the countryside.
A survey carried out in June last year by French jobs website RegionsJob showed that 59 percent of workers in the greater Paris region of Ile-de-France want to leave their jobs and move away from the French capital.
A total of 54 percent complained about the lack of proximity to nature and 48 percent complained about the unappealing environment and housing problems, respectively.

As for Dubai, it's currently losing its shine.
Ever since the first gleaming towers sprang out of the desert, Dubai has gotten used to rapid change. It’s no stranger to boom-and-bust. What’s happening now is different: a slow bleed.
The city’s iconic builders are plowing ahead. Cranes are everywhere. But no one is sure who’ll occupy all that new retail and office space. Already, Dubai’s malls are noticeably less full of stores and restaurants than they once were. Expatriates, the lifeblood of the economy, have started to pack up and go home -- or at least talk about it, as the cost of living and doing business surges. Corporate mainstays, from Emirates airline to developer Emaar Properties, just reported disappointing third-quarter profits. The stock market is having its worst year since 2008.
Business unease was already apparent in April last year, when Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum convened a meeting with more than 100 executives in his palace overlooking the Persian Gulf. The bosses raised issues including hefty government fees -– which are eroding the comparative advantage of tax-free Dubai –- to strict visa rules that push foreigners out when they lose their jobs. The conclave was followed by a flurry of decisions, still working their way through the system.

But a fix for what’s ailing Dubai may be beyond the powers of its ruler. Sheikh Mohammed and his predecessors built a fishing village into a hub for finance, trade and tourism in the region –- but now that region is changing, perhaps for good.

You know, with your traditional values, your knowledge of Islam, and your ability to speak Arabic like the ancestors in the Middle East,  I'm sure that you would be an excellent cheese salesman in Palestine.

I would not mind that at all  ;D
And maybe marrying a Palestinian woman to go with that.

The Prophet spoke of this more the 1400 years ago

at the end of the long hadeeth of the conversation between Muhammad peace be upon & the angel Gabriel disguised as a traveler....

He inquired: “Inform me about the Hour (i.e., the Day of Resurrection)”. He (SAWS) replied, “I have no more knowledge thereof than you”. He said, “Inform me about some of its signs”. He (SAWS) said, “They are -that a bonds-woman gives birth to her own master, and that you will find the barefooted, naked, poor shepherds competing one another in the construction of higher buildings”. Then he departed. The Messenger of Allah kept silent for a while then he said to me, “O ‘Umar! Do you know who the questioner was?” I replied, “Allah and His Messenger know better”. The Prophet (SAWS) said, “He was Jibreel (the Angel Gabriel); he came to you to teach you your religion”. (Muslim).

Note:
The story narrated by 2pac at the second half of the song is probably fictional.

How Hong Kong is home to the crazy rich and the mega poor

How do you define "mega poor"? As I see it, a mega poor person is someone who is homeless, doesn't own anything except the clothes he's wearing and struggles to find his next meal. There is virtually none of this in Hong Kong. The special territory is extremely crowded and very busy with plenty of things happening. In fact, many mega poor people from other countries move there because it's much easier to find work. In a documentary on Netflix they showed a guy who rents a 2m x 1m x 1m space with a bed. That's his home. He has a job, doesn't make much but enough to stay alive. Poor but not "mega" poor.
