N ext time, only download from my page at TPB:

Now that you mention the Pirate Bay, I'd like to ask you: how exactly do you upload to that site? Yesterday I tried to send them something but apparently the tracker (or trackers) I had weren't right because µTorrent kept reporting no connection to those trackers. Furthermore, I looked all over and didn't see any to use or instructions, as are found on Demonoid, BTScene and other sites.

First, please tell me what trackers you use for TPB and should you use multiple trackers or just one. Also, as in all sites, there's a form to fill out when you upload. Which do you do first -- fill out the form on TPB (and other sites) and then create the torrent, or do you create the torrent first then fill out the form?

Easy!
1) Create the Torrent file using any torrent software using the trackers I once posted.
2) Login to TPB and click on 'Upload torrent'.
3) Fill in the info and you're done.

OK, first you create the torrent file, THEN you log in and fill out the form. I'm glad I got that in order, I never knew which to do first. Also, may I ask a favor -- I know you posted the trackers because I copied them. In fact, right now before asking you to repost them, I looked at a text file I have and found some labeled "Maher's trackers" (with a space between each). I'm assuming those are it. If not I'll ask you to update them for me. Thanks.

I need your advice. I'm trying to upload something to TPB, but obviously I'm screwing up somewhere. With your permission let me take you step by step what I've been doing so far -- hopefully you'll catch the mistake and enlighten me.

Let me start with my µTorrent configuration. I have the files I leech (and try to upload) in one folder, the torrent files are in another. µTorrent is configured to be looking out for torrent files in that folder and promptly grab them and get to work without me telling it to do that every time. Internet Download Manager is configured to send torrent files directly into that folder so µTorrent will grab them. Keep this in mind for now.

The first thing I do is bring up µTorrent and create the torrent file. I do as it says, put down a description, the tracker list, the file or folder I want to send them, etc. When all is said and done, the torrent file by default goes into the folder I mentioned, µTorrent picks it up and a green line that says "seeding" appears.

I then log onto TPB and clck on "upload", and their upload screen appears. First I go to the top, click "browse" and point to the torrent file I want to upload. Afterwards I put down a description, then I head down and pass their captcha test. After that's done, Firefox's screen goes white for about a minute. Then it brings me back to their page 1 where the files people upload are located. My torrent isn't there. I refresh and still my torrent doesn't exist. I look at µTorrent and there it shows only one seeder (me) and not a single bit uploaded. 15 minutes later I look again -- my torrent isn't on TPB and nothing uploaded. I check the trackers and all connections are OK.

I realize there is a mistake, so I repeat the procedure, only this time I sent the torrent file to a temporary directory (not the default). I go to TPB and do the same thing. After the captcha is finished I then send the torrent file to the default directory so µTorrent will pick it up. Nothing. Same end result.

What am I doing wrong?

If your upload was successful you will be direxted to the page of the torrent you just uploaded, if not, then you're having a problem.
I can't tell what's you problem, may be you're banned from uploading or something like that.
I recommend you register at http://suprbay.org and post your problem there.
Admins will check your account and see if you're banned or not.
Good luck.

I will certainly do that, but before I do I want to be absolutely sure I'm not screwing up somewhere. Why am I asking you this again? Because I have an account there (I am bert16), I have no problem posting comments nor downloading, I am not abusive when it comes to leeching, and most importantly because I've never done anything wrong nor had a fight with anyone. In fact I recall not being able to post comments because it never occurred to me to get an account, so I wrote them an e-mail and they fixed the problem for me. If they had a change of heart, no one has told me anything. There is even successful upload I performed a while back -- in fact every time I log in, their site's software takes me there. Although certainly nothing is impossible, before I contact them please reassure me that my attempt at the upload was done correctly, just to eliminate that possibility. Frankly if I were banned, I'd be shocked.

Please advise so I can promptly contact them and see what's going on.

You're doing everything correctly.
Don't worry, sometimes they do ban some people by mistake! I was banned once :) Posted there and they removed the ban.

Many thanks for your words of consolation.

I visited suprbay today and found out that TPB's uploads section is down for maintenance. Needless to say, I am relieved. For some reason, though, it wouldn't let me post on the suprbay forums, so I left them a message about that. I didn't know I had an account and I last visited Sept 13th. Fortunately the login and password were both on my Roboform (another program I can't live without).

I added you as a buddy on there.
