NET Framework Version 4.0

Homepage: http://msdn.microsoft.com/hi-in/netframework/aa569263.aspx

The .NET Framework is Microsoft's comprehensive and consistent programming model for building applications that have visually stunning user experiences, seamless and secure communication, and the ability to model a range of business processes.

The Microsoft .NET Framework 4 redistributable package installs the .NET Framework runtime and associated files that are required to run and develop applications to target the .NET Framework 4.

The .NET Framework 4 works side by side with older Framework versions. Applications that are based on earlier versions of the Framework will continue to run on the version targeted by default.

.NET Framework 4 includes the following new features and improvements:

Improvements in CLR and BCL
Improvements in ADO.NET
Enhancements to ASP.NET
Improvements in Windows Presentation Foundation
Improvements to Windows Workflow Foundation and Windows Communication Foundation

Hotfile download link isn"t working.
Here"s a filehippo link that works: http://www.filehippo.com/download_dotnet_framework_4/
Off Topic: Does anyone know a software(or browser based application) to check essential software(e.g. NET Framework, Flash Player and so on...) because Windows Live Update doesn"t install them and I discover like 3 of them per day after reformating and have to install them again to get the windows back to normal.

Windows Live update fails to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 . When I try to do it manually it says fatal error during installation.

Here is the log:
[04/30/08,16:21:49] WIC Installer: [2] Error code 1603 for this component means "Fatal error during installation."
[04/30/08,16:21:49] WIC Installer: [2] Setup Failed on component WIC Installer
[04/30/08,16:22:19] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates WIC Installer is not installed.
(same thing comes with Microsoft .NET Framework 4)

I tried to install WIC from here(32 bit) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=8E011506-6307-445B-B950-215DEF45DDD8&displaylang=en and it says WIC is already installed when I try to install it.

Is there any solution to that(Besides downgrding to SP2)?

Any help would be appreciated.

Try downloading the offline installer.
Don't have a link for it, search Google you will find.
Good luck.

Means that I tried it in both ways: manually(offline installer) and with Windows Live update.
Still same problem. :(

It appears to me that I did manage to install MS Net Framework 4.0 because when I installed 64bit MS Office with all updates recently, the readme file said that 4.0 had to be installed so Office (at least that version) would work, and it did. However, you can't begin to imagine how many other "important" updates I try to install that don't -- I have to end up hiding the updates so Windows Action Center doesn't keep pestering me. There are times I think these updates are being blocked on purpose by my loader software activated both Windows and Office.
