Title: Printers
Post by: aa1234779 on June 12, 2013, 06:09 AM
Greetings to all..

Grown tired of wasting $$$ on ink!

Now considering buying a cheap refurbished laser printer..

http://reviews.cnet.com/laser-printers/hp-laserjet-2300dn/4505-3159_7-21096968.html

Has anyone tried this or has an idea if it will be worth it?

What should one look for when buying second-hand hardware (even though it has 6 months warranty)??

Read this http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/article/354659/laser_vs_inkjet_printers_which_better_/

Personnaly all my documents are printed by the cybercafés pakis. In Paris they are all indian or paki. For the white its too hard and the black prefer to drive taxis or are security guard. These pakis are crooks but Im not bothered with a printer.

Dude, the dealings with people has nothing to do with race or religion. Each person represents only him/herself, not his race, country, or religion.
As to religions, practice & beliefs are two different things. The practices can at many times be contradicting with beliefs which once again lead to the person him/herself. Generalizing is unfair. BTW, the word 'paki' is considered offensive/racist to these ppl. Just a heads up.  ;D

As to laser printers, I'm ditching ink because my needs are b/w printing only. 5,000-10,000 pages per laser toner refill is much more convenient than 100 pages per 1 cartridge.

I'm inquiring as to the model, is buying such a piece of refurbished hardware a gamble or will it be worthwhile especially that it's dirt cheap?

I didnt want to offend anyone-paki is indeed not very kind. But thats a fact and in big towns its something that is striking. I know that because some are selling bollywood movies. After all its a personal deduction they come from pakistan and its ridiculous.
For your printer I dont know. I dont really care about printers in fact and it seems you have specialist needs.

Pardon me, why is it too hard for whites, blacks drive taxis or work as bodyguards, and brown people work cybers?
These race-labor-finance-lifestyle relationships (or stereo-types) have something to do with the situation of diverse societies everywhere I guess.

Reminds me of...

@aa1234779 - how much printing do you do that you require so much ink? I've always bought refilled generic cartridges and so far I've never had a problem.

Race? Well... do you watch Star Trek? If so, you'll notice the different races are Vulcans, Klingons, Ferengis, and of course, humans. Humans are a race, or if you prefer, a specie. The fact that they don't look alike doesn't make them less human. As for people who do jobs on the lower end of the totem pole, I've seen them with black skin and also with blond hair and blue eyes.

@humbert - mostly office work + 100 b/w pages isn't worth the ride or the money going to the computer shop. A b/w laser printer saves a lot.

Ethnicity is the meaning agreed on when the word 'race' is used & I totally agree that many different ethnic group including Caucasians work low-end jobs, yet some jobs are dominated by certain ethnic groups. This does not demean any of them nor the jobs/businesses they occupy. In the end, everyone has themselves & families to feed and societies to serve that cannot function without these jobs whatever they are.
