We have try just now on my friend pc, when we try to boot from cd to start recovery console.. there is no 'r' option selection?
what can we do now Maher to go to recovery console using this cd?

I burned the disk on 4x speed , very carefully etc .

Is it the type of disk which is wrong ? I don't know rly :/

Hello Milo,
Download Hiren's BootCD from the Programs section and burn it into a CD.
Use any partition tool from there (Acronis for example) to format all partitions.
Try installing again.

Hi Maher,

Not a clue what happened; was going to get into BOIS and prevent recognition of C drive. Figured that before I did it may just be worth installing that 6y/o XP, so there was only one OS on C in case I needed to return to it.
Put the old disk in, lo & behold there's the correct Startup screen, not displayed until now? I swapped disks for yours pretty sharpish! Uploaded a treat, just a couple of drivers not installed correctly? IDE channels which are now sorted, WGA Video controller I'm still struggling with...

All in all a very successful result, thanks again for your consideration!

My problem was simple , when i installed windows XP i always had a blue screen of death when it was done loading the drivers and starting to load windows.

However , you told me that it could be a hardware problem , so i explored my BIOS settings a little bit , and changed the main booting device , and the primary HDD to select the booting software out etc etc , long story short  : i messed a bit around with the bios settings.

When it installed windows XP it worked like a charm , no blue screens , no file errors , not a single one ! :D
The pc is fully active now , it boots up in just under 25 seconds now , fully loaded etc etc .

From the deepest part of my heart , i thank you , Maher ! :)

I recently DLed the Windows XP Pro SP3 for July because my old version of windows broke. So after getting my hard drive to be stable again I'm trying to boot it up from the burned disk. I wrote image to the cd at 1x speed and after i load from disk it just goes to the black screen with the cursor blinking in the upper left. Nothing happens afterwards.. I used imgburn btw.

How can I get this windows to boot up so I can install ?

Check your boot options in the BIOS and make sure that your first boot device is your CD/DVD ROM.

Hey, why do you bother with creating and supporting pirated windows OS's if you don't have a rootkit or something in them? In other words, if you haven't loaded it with a virus then what else could you possibly have to gain from putting the time and effort into it?

uhm I did burn it as an image. I was just verifying. For some reason it doesn't load as an autorun. Why is this? Other ISO CD's I have to run as an autorun program. Are the files missing something?

may be, but no problem when i use my old non integrated installation cd Xp sp3. my old pc HD is IDE. my DVD rom is SATA.

Dual booting Vista and XP is a little bit complicated for normal users.
Search Google: How to dual boot Vista and XP. You will find lots of helpful tutorials.

Hmm This might sound dumb. Will it not work if I burn it on a DVD? reason is that I ran out of CDs a month ago. What program do you recommend for burning? I have GBurner.

I cleaned my computer completly with FDisk, and then tried your CD, it wouldn't boot. I used a program: Mini XP
to try to instal it from there, and i was able to start the screen where you can choose instal, system compitable, but i simply cant click the instal button, it sort of like greyed out, just as everything else in the menu. Any help would be appreciated.

I burned the exact .iso to the CD-R, but then I found out he was using Windows XP Media Edition, so I'm sure it would not work in the first place.
To my understanding, he re-located another media edition .iso and installed from that, but now gets a fatal error message after attempting to do the clean re-install.

sometimes your computer might not have the port but whether your computer supports sata .. you can look it up in your bios. You just look it up in your bios.

You know, for some reason for almost all versions of Windows I've installed, even if you tell the software to create a single NTFS partition encompassing 100% of the drive's capacity, for some reason when you check it after that's done, there's an 8gb partition on the drive left over. Any ideas what this is about?

You will need an iso to cd  burner to burn it to a CD... if you have nero.. that should do the job...otherwise there is plenty of iso to cd burning softwares on the internet for free.

If you're stuck on XP, you gotta keep in mind that there were no sata drives when that OS was originally written, so the installation program can't pick them up. It does, however, give you an opportunity to stick in a disk with drivers for anything XP knows nothing about. I believe this is what's causing your problem. Notice that XP doesn't even have drivers for USB 2.0 until service pack 2 was released -- I'm not sure if sata drivers were added later separately or as part of service pack 3. I'm certain that the version Maher uploaded will work with sata, but the installation program is a separate deal altogether. Maher you uploaded this version, please correct me if I'm wrong and if I'm right, can you provide the sata drivers for the installation program?

You know, one thing I like about computing is that any time you turn the machine on and log onto the net, you learn something. I didn't have a clue this site or this software existed. I've been using Slimdrivers up to now, which by experience gave me the best (or least worst) results and the fewest false positives. This computer was bought some years back, so this might be true. I just want to know how to make the startup notification go away. I also can not run Windows Update because of this and can not get the latest updates. Anyone have a clue as in what I can do, again I am running Xp Professional SP3 in Spanish! I tried installing your latest release but the language files arent compatible.

I finally got so discouraged with the bloody bug invasion and coders willing to make a living by disturbing the rest of us, I went to this trouble.  It worked well however and has been absolutely rock solid and virus free since.  I just wish I could get well advertised as stable Linux to be stable . . . and fast. Fedora was solid but I'm getting on in years and punch too many wrong keys with fingers suffering from arthritis. I prefer a decent GUI at my age. I tried a few other Linux distros and settled on Ubuntu--mostly for the Gnome GUI desktop I suppose.

I'm happy to know someone else has gone through that and I'm pleased to see him offer it as a download. I suppose I should look at it. It was all reasonably easy, just basic registry and environment stuff, a silent install, batch files and scripting, but I don't think it's in my cars to do again. 

That provided a stable platform and I made a 2Tib quad booter on a 2.4GB intell CPU in an old Dell case.  I stuck on a Linux and Hackintosh OS, and was pretty content, save for the speed. Linux is really quite pretty, and I find myself enjoying the darker themes. The Mac was my graphic machine. That was then, and now with Photoshop CS5, Bibble and some of the OnOne apps and Topaz, and tons of raw photo stuff that can be 35Mib's as well as huge Tiff's I have changed things. I dropped the Hackintosh, and revised Windows XP and 7 a bit more, but I would like to get XP's appearance up a bit.   

I was here thinking I would have to do it all over again, stripping a system of the theme and then adding it to mine, but after checking out the Micro XP and wandering around online I see that it just may be possible to either find what I need ready to go, or some assistance to create a black theme that looks like Vista in my skinny old XP.

Easy enough to do in nero, just change media type after opening ISO image.

Some parts of the world DVD media is WAY cheaper than CD.

Try inserting the USB keyboard after Windows starts, does it tell you that it detected new software?

It doesn't, no response at all. Its very strange...the first time i turned it on it worked, but i needed the keyboard for my main computer so i could download the drivers for the dell. When i went to switch it back it no longer worked

Hey Maher! I looked at your Pirate Bay page looking for Internet Download Manager Bld 12. I leeched a copy from Demonoid but I don't think it's for real because when I tried to download something, it says something like "Firefox cannot pass the file to IDM" (or something like that). I had to revert back to 11, which does work OK.

There is no question that Windows 7-64 is far better than XP. As I see it, XP should be used only by those poor schnooks who have ancient computers and can't afford to upgrade. For that matter, many doctors' offices I've visited use XP on their client computers, but then again they don't have the luxury of downloading XP and cracking it like we do, not to even mention the learning curve. Don't get me wrong, Win 7 isn't rocket science by any stretch of the imagination, but try to explain that to a bunch of secretaries who can barely click a mouse. Maher, please answer this for me: what kind of fun can you have with XP -- unless you're using that OS to test warez or something? Do you have it set up in a dual boot configuration with 7 or what?

how can i know if i have installed the  right driver for my network card?? i have use driver identifier to find my driver.. one thing mr maher is that.. when i installed windows 7.. i can access the internet but i switch it back to sp3.. its gone..

It came from your fenopy account.
I don´t get your question about his looks but it changed to the image the
selected program gives it ( so right now ImgBurn shows it as a burning cd in front of a page)
The size is 624.960 Kb

Also when I right-click my only options are:

The problem is at your end. But can't really tell it!
You need to copy that file into a USB drive and burn the ISO file into a Con another machine.

and there is a drop down menu with option of K:\1386, and another one as "A:\

I burned the ISO from NERO. I am doing the clean install, in my "C" Drive.

It works!!
I couldn´t copy or move the iso, so I copied the entire map in wich it came.
I got a message that there was information attached that couldn´t be transferred and
would not be copied with the rest.
For what it´s worth the attached information was referred to as:  ":favicon:$DATA"
I have absolutely no idea what this all means but now when I click on
the iso that´s on my usb it opens op nero at once and burns without any trouble.

Thank you again for the help and keep up this life saving ( bit overacting I know) work.

P.S.
I googled it and came across

and the only support I have for this possibility is that my USB is still FAT32 and not NTFS.

I installed Windows XP July but Standby and Hibernation aren't working. Could you please help?

The basic drives one needs to run the OS

You need to set your first boot device to your hard disk in the BIOS.
Regarding updates, yes you can turn them on.

What option did you use on PowerISO? Burn image file?
Or you just copied the ISO file into the CD using PowerISO?

Are you sure you've installed the right driver for your network card?

how can i know if i have installed the  right driver for my network card?? i have use driver identifier to find my driver.. one thing mr maher is that.. when i installed windows 7.. i can access the internet but i switch it back to sp3.. its gone..
