Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is an "article site"?
Article submission is one of the most popular and one of the oldest link building methods known to the SEO industry. Everyday thousands of articles are being submitted to these article directories by webmasters and SEO professionals to boost the back links of the website under question. If you have a website and if you do not know what is article submission, then it is high time that you learn about this link building strategy and use it to boost your website's ranking in the search engines.
Now that search engines give great importance to back links, many link building strategies have come into the industry. Article submission allows the users to submit their articles to the article directories and have live links in the author resource box. Here article directories get free content for their website and webmasters get their free back links. When finding one way back links became highly challenging, article submissions came as a great blessing to the webmasters. They did not mind writing articles rather than sending hundreds of mails to get just one of two links. It is very important that we get good quality back links for our website. All the web masters worked on this premise and article submission was used as one of the major link building strategies. There are hundreds thousands of articles to the name of certain webmasters in the article directories.
To get your links from article submissions, you will have to first compile a complete list of article directories and start signing up for your free account. After you sign up for your free account, can submit your articles. The articles that you submit will have a title, article body, summary in some cases and author resource text. In the author resource text, you will be able to add your website's link. It is from the author resource box you will get your back links. Each article submission site will have its own submission guidelines. You will have to make sure that your submissions comply with the article directory submission guidelines. Only when the guidelines are followed, article directories will approve your articles. Without this approval, your articles will not be accessible by the other users or by the search engines. So you will have to follow the guidelines closely so that you get your back links for your website through your submissions. There is no use submitting to hundreds of article directories without getting your articles approved.
There are couple of other benefits to article submissions. You will be able to send a considerable amount of traffic to your website through article submissions. You will be able to increase your organic traffic count using article submissions. These articles can also feature in the search results independently. This again is another source of traffic to your website. Make use of article submissions to get permanent one way links for your website.

Thanks for the explanation. I captured the rest of your post for reference, but even so I'm not all that sure exactly what you mean. Let me see if I can learn this from a hypothetical example. Suppose you decided to put up (for example) a tech support website. Logically you'd want people to find it in search engines. Are you telling me you'd go into one of the article submission sites and post an article about the site to encourage people to get on it, and this alone would cause one of the many search engines to pick it up, or is this simply an oversimplification? I just visited a site and even leeched a video about it, but I'm still not all that sure.
Assuming this is basically the case, would someone who has no web page even be interested in looking there? If so, why?
Before I forget, what does SEO stand for, or what does it mean?

Yeah I too guess this :-[
Some people use this site just for their own purpose >:( >:(
Admins & Moderators should
do something about these things.
What can one do ??
I wouldn't be surprised if this topic allready had several posts on it before mods saw it.
And if they delete the opening post, will not all the rest also be deleted ?
Most of the spam vanishes pretty fast.
I've seen a few just in the short time I've been here.

Mods like Ahmad & Humbert [
I believe there are only 2 Mods on such a huge site] are
most of the time online.
I will not lie but they do their best to keep the site going like
removing ads and all that creepy stuff. They do take care of the reported topics/posts for this site in the place of Maher.[
I am waiting for him to be back soon]

If you pull the roots of a tree, won't the branches get out with it.
If such SPAM topics are created then there is no harm in removing such topics & posts do not matter for such topics.

He seems like a great guy, have communicated with him a little on SA.
Does he be more often on SA :P
Don't know. When he post there, he monitor comments. But I don't know how often or how long for.
Guys, clue me on on the gossip concerning ads. I'm under the impression spam was posted by someone, which Ahmad removed. Was this what happened? Naturally I use the word "someone" because I don't like to point the finger at anyone unless I'm positive it was him. And it goes without saying that I trust Ahmad completely and without reservation, and as such any action he takes unilaterally has my full support. Let me just say if this was indeed what happened, it's just another reason to justify the opinion I just gave about him as both a friend and fellow moderator.
Blade: if there other moderators here other than Ahmad and myself (not including our dear leader), then you know something I don't. ;)
To Mr Humbert (have you changed your username ?)
There has been a little directly posted spam/advertising that I have seen, so there has probably been some I haven't seen. It all disappears very fast, I assumed by the good work of yourself and Mr Ahmad.
The chatter on this topic (thread) has been around my (and BLADESHARK's I think ??) belief, that this topic (the original post) is very close to spam. Although at lest politely inserted.
I think I see somewhere else that "spam" is slipping in, but will PM you if you're interested.

Hey Topdog, you're from New Zealand? What city? Also, did you say you were Maori? And finally, are you a rugby fan?
Hey Humbert,
Yes, I'm from Aotearoa/NZ.
My grandfather was Māori.
I played football/soccer.
See http://www.nomaher.com/forum/index.php?topic=531.msg3311#msg3311 (http://www.nomaher.com/forum/index.php?topic=531.msg3311#msg3311) for more.
Almost forgot. I'm about 40 minuets out from Wellington. On the coast, by the mountains.

Thanks for the answer. I'll look that up in Google maps and ask a few more questions later. Doing all this from the phone in next to impossible. There's still more stuff to read but I'll have to see if someone will loan me their computer.

I found you on the map. You're just to the south of Wellington. From what I've heard, NZ has a very high standard of living. I'm curious -- are you fluent in the Māori language despite the fact that only your grandfather was Māori? Have they suceeded in keeping the language and culture alive despite years of British occupation?
I'm a football (soccer) fan also. During the World Cup every 4 years, don't even talk to me, I don't even leave the house :). BTW, I would have loved to see the World Rugby championship that took place there last year. The problems were (1) it was on a pay-TV service (although a free internet streaming service could have been used too), and (2) for obvious reasons the game were during the middle of the night my time. :(
Hello dear friends. :)
Sorry for being away but my cousin was getting married and I had to travel to my uncle's village near to my city, and I stayed there for a week with no internet.
I'm posting here to thank you all about your beautiful words you said about me:
QuoteI trust Ahmad completely and without reservation, and as such any action he takes unilaterally has my full support.

@ Ahmad
Next time make sure you inform me while going away for more than 3 days.

I'll do that next time.
Sorry again & Thanks.

Sorry about delay in responding, my old friend chaos called in for a quick visit and I made him so welcome, he decided to stay for a bit.
OK. First, NZ doesn't really have a high standard of living, it's more that we have a good quality of life.
Obviously something of a generalisation . Some examples; one of the highest rates of car ownership, but they tend to be older and are often 2nd hand Japanese imports. Wages are low by OECD standards but then so are rents, education is "free", so is healthcare. Although agricultural products are our primary export, food is reasonably expensive but good. Imported electronics are expensive but lifestyle blocks/hobby farms relatively cheep. If your into outdoors stuff, it's there. It's a good place if your not into a fast lifestyle but like everywhere, has its problems. (ie highest rate of imprisonment in western world after US. That's got to say something)
Got to go, will be back about the te reo Māori and British occupation stuff later (that's a real can of worms but you've opened it)

That's good! I just love opening cans of worms. Regarding what you've said above concerning NZ, it doesn't surprise me -- all countries have their good and bad, and of course there is no perfect place anythere. By all means talk to me about the Maoris and British occupation when you get a chance.
