Title: Win 7 -> Win 8
Post by: Shadow.97 on January 03, 2013, 02:53 AM
Hey, I'm currently using Windows 7 together with DAZ loader, and i want to ->Buy<- Windows 8 as i got all confused by the activation methods. Is there any risks (busting)? I am going to wipe my harddrive (Currently 2 partions 500GB each) and rearrange them to 800GB and 200GB One for Windows 8 and one for Linux. Is it as user-friendly as windows 7/xp to install and arrange the harddrives?
The biggest reasons for wanted to upgrade is Windows failing to boot (Needs repair every time i turn it off shutdown -h <3)
Is there anyway to backup and compress both C: and D: to my external drive as i have really nice files i don't want to loose.

Happy 2013 :)

I can't really help you with the Windows 8 department as I have not installed it yet. One question though, when you shut down your computer, do you press shut down and let the system shut down or do you hold the power button?

Shadow: if you're referring to Windows 8, as I see it your best bet is a clean install. From what I've been reading, all "upgrades" offer that option too. In fact, so far I have yet to see one that doesn't.

There are activator everywhere.

They're down? That's news to me. I haven't had trouble logging on there.

Also, there are trillions of fine torrent sites out there. htt3.com (http://htt3.com) is my second favorite, and you don't even need an account to leech all you want. There's also fulldls.com (http://fulldls.com) and so many more. Running out of torrent sites is one thing we pirates will never have to worry about.

Now that you mention torrent sites, I have a question regarding your use of that VPN site. It makes sense that their software proxies your browser to the torrent site because it might be blocked. However, once you obtain the torrent, that's another thing altogether. The file comes from everybody and stopping it is next to impossible. There is no need to go through their proxy and expierience slowdowns. Right???

How i understand it is the company that wants to charge you downloads the torrent and watch the seeders or leechers IP's and sniff it then save it in a database and sniff it then send you a letter about court, i honestly dont know im rather just on the more safe side  ;D

Have you checked this out or is this mere speculation? Besides, keep in mind torrents come from everywhere and keeping track of them isn't easy. Also, there are tons of legal torrents out there, so how do they know you downloaded pirated stuff? What if you told them it was just pr0n?

What my previous ISP did while I was still in Miami was impose a cap. If you leeched 250 GB or more per month, they'd charge you for an extra 150 GB and so on. My current ISP has no such restrictions.

In how much time did you leech 10 TB? What do you do with all that data? Even if everything was HD movies, that's an awful lot of movies. I guess you'd delete it after using it, if not you've probably got a nice collection of big hard drives lying around.  :)

You're absolutely right. The bad part is you've got to leech an awful lot of garbage to find stuff that's really good. A classic example is those Android packages they have on TPB and other sites. You have to leech the entire package of maybe 30 apps to get just 1 or 2 you're looking for.

BTW, unless I'm mistaken if you don't have UEFI then the maximum partition you can create is 2 TB. Were you able to create a single NTFS partition on those drives, or were you forced to cut it up? Also, since you're got quite a few of them, I'm guessing they're not installed internally. Do you connect them via USB, eSATA or maybe Firewire?

Oh, before I forget - I don't think Sweden is taking in immigrants unless they're political refugees. Also, after I moved, how would I even earn a living when I don't even speak Swedish?

Im about to laugh my *** off, we accept all immigrants illigal and everything noone gives a care really, everyone that cares are stamped with a stamp called "racist". Free medical care for you if you move here, you just needs some papers that confirms you are you. Feel free to move to sweden.
Also, 1TB internal 750GB external and then more computer have 4 drives on 250GB and then i did not count my school pc which has 300GB
Also, i have 63 active torrents as of now (on main pc) and 100 GB free memory space on internal drives.
You will go far with only english.

I'd leave tomorrow if it were up to me. Also, if Sweden is so lax when it comes to immigration, then how is it you guys don't get invaded by foreigners as is the case with Germany and other places in Europe. At this point I believe the most likely to go there are Turks and probably Spaniards and Greeks due to their economic difficulties. Free medical care? Well, as I understand it you guys pay very heavy taxes, so in a way it's not really free. I know you're a young man and rarely visit the doctor, but if you had to, how hard is it to get an appointment or maybe have major tests done?

Out of curiosity alone, do you have blond hair and blue eyes? I know many Swedes do, of course not all. ;)

As for the language, you explained once that in second grade you were forced to learn English. This means that most Swedes speak it or can at least hold a conversation. It wouldn't be good for me - if I tried to speak to anybody in bad Swedish, they'd respond in English.  :)  As I said once, it's the same in Holland. During my trip there I did not find a single Dutchman or Dutchwoman who didn't speak Engish - and I'm not referring to those involved in tourism, I mean cashiers at supermarkets, taxi drivers and people who sell pizza.

The amount of storage you have is reasonable, but did you say you were downloading/uploading 63 torrents at once? If so, you're definitely using your high bandwidth.

Huh?? I think you are a bit lost.. In my class, 2nd/1st Gen immigrants ( their parents moved here) make about; 19 of (22/24 i think??)
And about taxes, i have no idea as i dont pay taxes and i have no idea about them. But yes, i can go to the dentist and ask for a time and they will set me up for free if you are under 18/21 i think. As of now i have braces had for soon a year, and i wont pay anything.
But i think the "free medical care" just covers life threatening things, i have no idea.
Also dont rely fully on me as i dont know everything..
And yes, i have blue eyes, and blond hair but it is becoming more brown for every day.

I'm curious - the other students in your class who are children or grandchildren of immigrants. Are they originally from all kinds of different places or mainly from one region of the world? What suprises me is that if Sweden's immigration policy is so lax, why is the county not invaded? The first people that come to my mind are those from Turkey. I keep reading there's a reasonably large Turkish contingent in Germany, and not everyone is happy with their presence.

Also, I've seen people with blond hair have darker hair as they get older. I hope you live long enough to see it turn white  :)

Changing the topic a little, let me ask you. You told me once that in 6th grade you had to choose a 3rd language to learn (Swedish and English being the 1st two), and you chose German. How it it going? Is your command of German as good as your command of English?

Oh, and don't sit there and tell me your English is bad. That's not true at all. Your English spelling and grammar are both much better than the average American, who very often speaks just one language. I can't say anything about your speech because I've never heard you, but if you're as good as Bubster (the other Swede here), it's perfect.

Comparing me and Bubster is a bit unfair in my oppinion as he is older and probably had more english courses in his life than me ^^!
My german is not good in my opinion the first year I had it I had such a terrible teacher I was seriously thinking of ragequitting from german clases. I learned NOTHING the first year. But now I have atleast the lowest accepted grade (E) and I made it through all the tests. And no as there is far less people speaking German and most Germans speak better english than I speak German we almost always use English when we speak. I've been using and chatting with English since I was probably 8 (at that time I had been reading English for 1 year.) I have no problem with the actual German Grammatic but when it comes to words I fail, I fail badly. Mainly because of the first year was the year where we learnt the most words. But now after almost 3 years of studying German it is much easier to learn when I can create simple phrases with the words/things I've learned.
I don't know if I told you, but we could choose between, sign language (speaking with only hands basically), French, German, and Spanish. In grade 8 I believe we could pick a 4'th language to learn but as I had too much problems with learning German I had to skip that opportunity, otherwise I'd probably fail German class.
Another note; my English in my personal opinion is somewhat good, but so does not my teacher think. He's opinion is that I am only worth a "D" (A Best, a b c d e E worst.)
When I am speaking with Americans my age I seriously get pissed of sometimes when they write like this "hru can u get me sum of that **** ty?" As I read "u" in swedish and it doesn't sound at all like "you" to me I get stuck in that sentence and often stop chatting with that person. Another advantage I am having right now is translating engines, as my English isn't perfect I am still missing words to use(Not speaking fluently but instead getting caught up missing one word and making me explain which word I was going to use and then most often loosing the subject.).
If you have skype you can add me (same username as on here) Just type in your username from this page(nomaher.com) in the box where you present yourself. Whenever I am on my PC at home I will almost answer texts immediately even though I am on 'busy'.

@Shadow -> Notice that I didn't compare you to Bubster or anyone else. I said "if you're as good as Bubster...." simply using him as a point of reference under the assumption that you and he were educated in a somewhat similar system. I know that comparisons are in very bad taste due to the simple fact that no 2 humans are the same.

As for learning German, I know perfectly what it's like to have a bad teacher. These people may know the material perfectly, but don't know how to teach it. The worst of the worst are those who keep saying the students are too stupid to learn anything and criticize them accordingly, thus destroying any incentive. And yes, the other thing you mention is very true -- any time you're in Europe and people detect you're not good at their native language, the use English to talk to you. The bad part about this is you can't practice and, as such, won't learn.

I honestly don't know what criteria your teachers use to judge your English. I have never heard you speak, but I can tell you one thing - in writing and reading it you're flawless. Rarely if ever have I seen you misspell a word or use grammar which might need improvement. I assure you that the majority of Americans don't write it as well as you do.

Those Americans who chat with you are using "internet speak". HRU is short of "who are you", and the letter U means "you". Go here (http://www.alsindependence.com/Internet_Slang.htm) and you'll see the full list. And thanks for the Skype invitation, although in the past I've looked for you as Shadow.97 and haven't found you, not even as an offline user.

@Scarface - after nearly 25 years of the same thing happening over and over, does it suprise you what Windows Blue got "leaked"? Bill Gates probably uploaded it himself using his account on iptorrents or one of those 0-day sites. Why abandon the same strategy that has make him a billionaire? Ask yourself this: why is it that all these copies are "leaked" before anyone even knows they exist, whereas Windows' source code has never been leaked?

Okay, if you can't find it by this name
+"---ZeedarN =D--> *Ri Sol-ju*"+
You can't find me at all (I have set that as my "real name")
Also, thanks scarface I think I'll download that to a pc I might be getting within a month (birthday) from my cousin, It has old specs and isn't the fastest I will use it as a test server basically and later on when I go to the PC "engineering" school(IT) after this summer I will probably learn about everything I'll need to know, and at that time it will probably have came out an even lighter OS for me to use(That supports .exe etc)
And I know what hru, roflmao etc mean, but I just find them annoying to read, as it feels like the people don't really want to chat with you/won't dedicate the time to be somewhat proper. In my personal opinion it's a bit like going around and throwing the soda cans on the ground instead of either taking them home or turn them in for like 1kr to some machines that chew them.(Do you have a word for those?)
I don't know if you've heard of the messenger app for phones called Kik? At first I thought it was forshort for some words so I got all confused at first, until I was told it was an app.
