Actually you can do both. The on-access scan can be disabled once the antivirus has started. By default it's automatically on after each restart, but this can be disabled too (you have to uncheck "Enable on-access scan on system startup)".  If you don't want it to run continuously, then it's not really useful to install it though.

I got a file named vse.exe - hope that's it. Let me check it out on VirtualBox.

Quote from: scarface on August 15, 2021, 09:40 PMIt is a switch-less installer. The original installer was modified: only the 64bit version is available (for windows 7/10/11 x64)

The is just a vse.exe file. Does it have to be installed? Can it be configured to work only when you want it to and not always? One problem I keep having with these anti-malware programs is that their detections are close to 100% false positives. Any app to create a serial number or patch a file is immediately labeled as malware and quarantined.

Well, it seems you are a bit nonplussed by this weird file. It has to be installed indeed. The installer is completely silent once double click on the file.
For the configuration, I already replied here: https://www.nomaher.com/forum/index.php?topic=1718.msg39173#msg39173
It's true that there are a few false positives.

Its endpoint security for enterprise. There's something called Trellix Stinger for on-demand scanning.
