Why Afghanistan was impossible to conquer for Pakistan?

There are 2 issues here that the video doesn't address. First, a critical reason the Soviet Union had to give up is because the Mujahadeen had powerful allies in America, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, plus some other countries. The Americans even gave them handheld Stinger missles which enabled them to shoot down Soviet helicopters like helpless birds. We were being told this crappy story about "defending democracy". What they didn't tell us is that the Soviet Union of the 1980's was a model of freedom when compared to the brutal regime imposed by our friends in Afghanistan.

Also: as I said above, in the 1980's the Afghans had help. This is not the case now. I know of no country that is actively helping the Taliban. The only place they can rest and get resupplied is in Pakistan. Seems to me if you can control Pakistan, you can end or at least put a serious dent in Taliban activity. If Pakistan is uncontrollable then there's nothing more to do except get out, the sooner the better.

Here's what I don't understand. No matter how notorious a country's geography is. No matter how disunited the people are. No matter what other factors work against those who invade Afghanistan. There is one hard fact: sooner or later the Taliban will run out of bullets and will need to be resupplied. How exactly is that happening? To my knowledge none of the countries that border Afghanistan favor the Taliban. Even if their sources are located in Pakistan, how are their friends in that country able to obtain all the supplies they need and, very important, who's paying for it? This is sharp contrast with the Soviet invasion during the 1980's. Many countries favored the Mujahadeen and everything they needed was delivered through Pakistan. The Soviet Union didn't have the luxury of invading Pakistan lest risk a [nuclear] war with the USA and had no way to stop the flow. The Taliban is doing something right, I just can't figure out what.
