I'm not too sure but I would imagine so. What's to update after that date if Microsoft won't be writing updates? Unless you're stuck with an ancient system which won't support W7, W8 or W8.1, you've gotta upgrade, the sooner the better.

I agree with that in 100%. I loved windows xp but now I am user of Windows 8.1 and I will say that is product which I need. I use Linux Mint on my notebook but for desktop for now one and only Windows 8.1.

Trueth be told, I'm planning on downloading the last XP SP3.iso(April 2014) and keeping it on a number of CDs, just in case. I'm pretty sure there will still be some prehistoric PCs that need XP, and Maher's images are perfect for the job. I've also started using Mahers Windows 7 images, as I'm tired of downloading a whole f**kload of updates.
Waiting for eventual November / December integrations of both OSs. :)

Wise choice!

Use firefox, its the best alternative.
At least upgrade to ie 8.

I totally agree. Firefox is highly configurable and has tons of add-ons. I also read somewhere that IE was the 2nd worse browser, the absolute worst being Safari. This doesn't surprise me, Apple is obsessed with having firm control over the garbage they make.
