@iih
So what's your point??

@usmangujjar
There won't be any funny stuff on your desktop/registry/back yard/etc. You just won't see the "New updates available" pop-up because MS won't be supporting XP any more. You can still run it on w/e PC you want, as long as you have the drivers for it. Now with that being said, please, for the love of God, don't install XP on modern PCs with driver support for Windows 7 or later.
i use XP & 8, both are my favourite..
MS whatever do for XP, i'll use it, when i need it. drivers are no problem for me,
I had to do something to overcome the XP support ends
Download and saved ie:
-------------------------------
WinXP.SP4.12.2.15.enu.Critical
Windows XP Service Pack 3 (KB936929)
Update for Windows XP (KB2779562)
Update for Windows XP (KB2570791)
Update for Windows XP (KB969084)

some note of me
---------------------
update windows xp XP errorr 0x80244018 (error on XP)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
80070643 error and do this
fsutil resource setautoreset true C: \ -> Xp
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whatever M$ do for Windows XP, i'll use it, when need it,
the fact that there are still some games or applications that only run / compatible in windows xp
for me Xp is still need to be used in accordance with the requirements and other limitation is as
vulnerable as we consideration

Hopefully is useful for us!

Are you stuck with an old system that makes it impossible to upgrade your copy of Windows or what? As I see it, that the only justification with staying with XP. Also, why are you running ancient software that works just with XP? Again, it it that you're stuck with some ancient hardware that needs it or something?

I've noticed that old software not running on anything higher than XP is the exception and not the norm. You could also check on the compatibility mode on Windows 7 thru 8.1 - I don't know too much about it because I never run it, but maybe others on the forum can guide you.

Certainly people can use what they want, but with computing being what it is, those options are limited. XP is a perfect example. Support will end soon, it's time to move on or get left behind.

I firmly believe if people simply stuck with what they know and refused to move on, we'd still be using horses instead of cars,

To humbert: with progress we have open pandora's box. We now depend on a way of life where we are forced to consume and work more and more and where we have become slaves of the society of consumption. If MS releases some new products, its not because they are better, its mostly a marketing strategy. And above all, Is this going to be durable? You should see this video with nafeez ahmed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMgOTQ7D_lk
Also, its not because you or a few users are using not legit Windows that Ms Is benefiting from piracy to spread their Os. They dont need That. Why do you think they stop the support for xp? Because they force firms to buy new licences of Windows. Where Im working they are changing every computer. Thousands of employees Will have new machines with win7 just because they are afraid to be hacked.

@Scarface-> I'm fully aware of the fact that all companies will do what it takes to increase their profit margin. This is nothing new. But let's be clear about something. A 50-year old car will get you from point A to point B just the same as one made yesterday. Similarly, a 1920x1080 LED HDTV made 5 years ago isn't too different from one made today. This is not the case with computing. As far back as 1965, Gordon Moore came out with his famous law. Computer technology advances as fast as a bullet, and software must advance with it. Mark Kryder also came with his law and both of these have held true.

On thing I keep telling XP users is that if their logic reigned supreme, we would all still be using DOS with 16-bit 80286 processors - and this is assuming we even left 8-bit systems behind!

Hi Mr. Maher, I hope you dont mind, but can you make a complete tutorial on how to create bootable cd with widows xp sp3 and another separate tutorial for windows 7 ultimate (both with latest editions) using poweriso or any burner application. It is not just for me but also for the sake of others who really want to know about this tutorial.

Hope you could grant this request. Thank you! and more power :)

I'll make it a bit easier: the same method applies to ALL windows .iso images since XP SP2(including SP2). You just have to burn it at low speeds. Something like x4(which I've been using for quite some time now). If you've burned a file to a disk before, then it won't be difficult for you.

I quit burning bootable ISO's to DVD or CD completely. Using a USB stick is infintely faster. In this case grab Windows7-USB-DVD-tool.exe - I'm pretty sure it'll work for XP also because it's a free download from Microsoft. Google for it and you'll find it. BTW - don't even dream of using USB 3.0 for XP. XP is too ancient, too old for USB 3.0.

Certainly PowerISO will work great, but frankly I prefer Burnaware. I might mention I've never had a problem because I used a speed faster than the slowest one.

QuoteLately i prefer usb stick minimum 8GB is infinitely faster, simple. in this case grab Rufus 1.45 or windows 7-usb-dvd-tool, besides using bootable disk.
