Hello to everyone,

I am trying to burn the ISO of the october release.
And by now I guess you realize that I can´t get it done.
I admit that I am no genius and that I didn´t read all the reply´s.
But I´m stuck and after one hour of searching and trying I decide to just ask for some help.

The thing is that I have tried the programs mentioned on this site
being: Nero, ImgBurn, AstroBurn and CDBurnerXP.

And they all tell me that the file name is invalid.
Or when I try to open it via windows (I mean Right-Click on the icon and then Open With)
that the access is denied.

At this point I am starting to believe that the ISO doesn´t work but that seems
highly unlikely since all the great response everybody is giving.

So I must be doing something wrong or my computer has decided to become
my mortal enemy.

So could someone tell me what the problem is and the solution for it?

Thank you for reading
and more thanks for answering,
Whats the file name?
Where did you download it from?
What does it look like?
What's the size of it?

I knew I had to forget some essential information.
The name of the file is: Microsoft.Windows.XP.Professional.SP3.Integrated.October.2011.SATA.By.Maher.[www.nomaher.com].iso
It came from your fenopy account.
I don´t get your question about his looks but it changed to the image the
selected program gives it ( so right now ImgBurn shows it as a burning cd in front of a page)
The size is 624.960 Kb

Also when I right-click my only options are:
Open
Burn using ImgBurn
Open with...
Send to

I´ve sticked to the things mentioned on this site (for so far I´ve read)
so I´m afraid the problem is on my end.

Thanks for the response,
You really are fast.

The problem is at your end. But can't really tell it!
You need to copy that file into a USB drive and burn the ISO file into a Con another machine.
Try it..

Hello Maher,
this is regarding "Microsoft.Windows.XP.Professional.SP3.Integrated.October.2011.SATA.By.Maher.[www.nomaher.com]"

When I tried to install, I got the following Pop-up.
"The file 'asms' on windows XP Professional service pack3 CD is needed.

Type the path where the file is located, and click OK

and there is a drop down menu with option of K:\1386, and another one as "A:\

I burned the ISO from NERO. I am doing the clean install, in my "C" Drive.
Please help.

Thanks a million,

It works!!
I couldn´t copy or move the iso, so I copied the entire map in wich it came.
I got a message that there was information attached that couldn´t be transferred and
would not be copied with the rest.
For what it´s worth the attached information was referred to as:  ":favicon:$DATA"
I have absolutely no idea what this all means but now when I click on
the iso that´s on my usb it opens op nero at once and burns without any trouble.

Thank you again for the help and keep up this life saving ( bit overacting I know) work.

P.S.
I googled it and came across
"http://ask-leo.com/what_are_alternate_data_streams_and_are_they_a_security_risk.html"
and the only support I have for this possibility is that my USB is still FAT32 and not NTFS.
If you knew this already then I haven´t said a word about this.
I guess that someone decided to intervene with your good work.

Hello,

I installed Windows XP Pro July release a couple of days ago. Seems like a nice release and I appreciate your hard efforts, the problem is the computer cannot go into standby mode or hibernate now. (Standby button is grayed out). I use an Acer 3000 Machine. Please help if possible.

Best

It's not a ZIP file, it's actually an ISO file.
It looks like a ZIP file on your system because WinZIP handles .iso extensions.
Good luck.
