Heeey Windows XP freaks

First off all great work Maherz for making this Slipstream with integrated hotfixes.

But I got some trouble, first off all i have a netbook(laptop)samsung n220 with windows 7 starter without cd/dvd drive so the only way I can install is via USB.

I had some probs with the iso and the bootable making of the usbstick.

But lately it was working correctly with a program called 'flashboot'

I followed al the steps of http://www.prime-expert.com/flashboot/index.php

But now i get this error(see pic). I check the I386map but the files are in the map (prestup.cmd & setuporg.exe)
but in the file txtsetup.sif those lines are indeed missing.

Does anyone else has this problem? and how can i solve this? just fill up those lines with whats its saying on the pic?

ooh i downloaded the windowsxp maherz from this site: http://www.dl4all.com/software/1551942-windows-xp-professional-sp3-integrated-june-2013-x86.html is this safe or should I download it from the url here in the forum again?

And also is flashboot a good way to install windows xp? because it makes some weird .img file on the usbstick with a size of 891mb and the maherz xp is 623mb

Hopefully you guys can help me out!
Thanx in advance

I think (you can think otherwise and I didnt test it) that you're experiencing errors with maher's XP iso if you dont install it via CD/DVD. As a specialist already said, maher uses nlite to integrate hotfixes, and this method is known to create problems when installing xp via usb/ftp (temp files cant be deleted I think, so it sparks an error). It's due to the fact some files like dosnet.inf, txtetup.sif are rotten. So you have to use other ways: either you take a classic xp iso, or you should use a CD/DVD.

This is Maher's links for Windows XP:
http://www.nomaher.com/forum/index.php?topic=133.msg834#msg834

But since you've already downloaded the file, you can check MD5 hash of the iso file to see if it's identical to what Maher posted in his link or NOT.
If the hash of your iso file is the same as Maher posted, then you have downloaded the right file.
If not, then download it again from one of Maher's links.

For installing Windows from flash drive, You can use WinToFlash or Rufus.
Both do the required job and I've tried them with success.

Good luck. :)

to unknowsoldier: i´m going to transcript one one of my posts from approximatelly a month ago in this topic,

are you installing from a pendrive ? Don´t try to install xp from a pendrive, burn a cd or dvd and use physical media, i always
had errors when trying to install xp from pendrive (xp doesn´t have drivers for sata or usb pendrives in installation mode).
If your machine doesn´t have a cd/dvd reader buy an usb external one, it´s cheap and worth a lot.
----------
as I mention before xp doensn´t have native instalation support for usb and sata hds, don´t even try to work on a pendrive,
you are going to lost a lot of your time and money - buy an usb external dvd  it´s cheap and worth a lot.
----------
Only to give you an example - Me and my niece have a hp2133 and I use all scripts available on the internet to use a usb to install xp
and always have post-installation problems (crashing, erros in control panel, services, etc). One day I decided to buy an external dvd - because every now and then I need to borrow from a friend to do tech support in some systems doesn´t accept pendrives and after this day
I carry in my car the unit and never leave house without it. In USA you can buy one for about 30 bucks without freight.

Hey guys, I've messed up my laptop x/
I downloaded the windows xp pro sp3 install, and I chose the update option. As my laptop restarted I encountered an error, the files presetup.cmd and setuporg.exe had problems. I skipped it, thinking it wasn't a big deal. Now my laptop is just restarting the setup and aborting it because these 2 files are missing. I can not boot from anything, whatever I boot from, its the same thing, abort restart etc. I burnt the setup on my DVD trying to format it, but even after I select boot from DVD Drive, it still does the same, as if nothing ever changed. Please I'm really worried about this! Its urgent!

to  kalesija13:
1) pray for good hard drive
2) download Hiren's Boot 15.2 Rebuild - and put on a pendrive or dvd
3) boot from hiren´s (in windows xp mode) and try to solve your problem and check if your workfiles still there.
4) if your files are still there backup your hd with acronis in another hard drive
5) after the backup check your hd with hiren´s - use the official version this time
6) if your hd is good - reinstall windows and programs from point zero
7) return your workfiles to the original hd but keep the backup for at least a month - sometimes you forget to return a very inportant file
8) I know it´s demand time and is lot of a work too - but it´s worthed I personally guarantee.

for example: i visited a new client today, he talks to me about problems in internet explorer, after analysing the computer I told the new client that I need to pickup the computer and return after two or three days because the windows installation is deteriorated and I need to backup the whole partition, reformat the hd, reinstall windows and programs, separate workfiles and programs, return the data to the reformated drive. He asked me to do a paliative method. I told him I´m not going to do that because it is going to crash again and that is impossible to do all reformat and other things in a client´s home. He told me that he can´t live without his computer and etc. He also told me that other technicians do this kind of work in a client´s home and I told him that´s why your windows is in that kind of mess. Finally i charged a half a visit (I only analyse the computer and have a little chat) and he told me is going to call when he is going to a weekend vacation. I prefer to lose a work and have a satisfied client (that is going to be a regular one and is going to advertise you to a friends) than do a paliate one and lose actual and future clients.

Hi everybody. I installed the Maherz Windows XP SP3 integrated CD (burned + verified), and everything went well there. Then I started installing MS updates and removing some Windows components (such as ie8), and along the way, I was asked to insert my CD, but it didn't accept the one I made, so I had to click cancel. Then I had problems with missing files and errors (ieencode.dll, iertutil.dll), which I replaced with ones downloaded from the internet. It complained about one of them, but the errors went away. I decided to run System File Checker (SFC) to make sure everything was OK, but now again it is telling me the CD is wrong.  Is this normal? Can I rescue it? I really don't want to go through the installation again.
Cheers.

PS. I used the included tool to remove Maherz signature.

tried a couple of things: replacing Maherz signature, and copied I386 folder from CD to hard drive ... no dice
Looked in my event viewer for more info. Here are just some of the files it's complaining about (there are a lot more):
c:\windows\system32\ieakui.dll
c:\windows\system32\ieencode.dll
c:\windows\system32\ieaksie.dll
c:\windows\system32\ieakeng.dll
c:\program files\internet explorer\hmmapi.dll
c:\windows\system32\dxtrans.dll
c:\windows\system32\dxtmsft.dll
c:\windows\system32\corpol.dll

Why is Windows such a fragile POS?
