How to Change Themes in Google Chrome

Google Chrome themes can be used to modify the look and feel of your browser, altering the appearance of everything from your scrollbar to the background color of your tabs. The browser provides a very simple interface to locate and install new themes. This tutorial explains how to utilize that interface on the Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.

First, open your Chrome browser.

Click on the Chrome "wrench" icon, located in the upper right hand corner of your browser window. When the drop-down menu appears, select the choice labeled Options.

Chrome's Options should now be displayed in a new tab or window, depending on your settings. Click on Personal Stuff, found in the left menu pane.

Towards the bottom of the Personal Stuff window is the Themes section, featuring a button and a link. The button, labeled Reset to default theme, will return Chrome's display to its default state. To obtain a new theme, click on the Get Themes link.

Chrome's Themes Gallery should now be displayed in a new browser tab or window. Locate a theme that you wish to install and click on the button below it labeled CHOOSE THEME.

In the example above, I have selected the Lord of the Rings theme
