I read on Torrentzfreak that domains such as oldpiratebau.org, thepiratebay.hk and a few others were simply clones not affiliated with our friends in Sweden. Let's hope this link is the real deal.

Seeing TPB come back is no surprise to me. What day will profiteering gluttons like the MPAA realize their battle is futile. Exterminating TPB and similar sites is a little bit like trying to exterminate the mosquito or the cockroach - it'll never happen.

Have you checked "thepiratebay.hk" or some of the other clones? Also, check out http://torrentfreak.com/open-bay-now-everyone-can-run-pirate-bay-copy-141219/ - it's an effort by Isohunt so anyone can launch a Pirate Bay clone. Before this the profiteers had only one Pirate Bay to worry about, now they've got many more.

There will always be piracy, at least until there's financial justification for it. Torrents are an excellent way to share pirated stuff. Maybe someone will come up with a better way, let's see.

I was so thrilled yesterday to see the original PB is up and running like a charm! I found it as I was searching for something and it worked like a charm! Happy dance.

What you may not be aware of is that there are no moderators now (staff members whose job was to remove fakes and malware). This effectively means there will be a flood of malicious uploads. So if you're not experienced in recognizing and avoiding bad stuff, I suggest you stay away from TPB. Kickass.so is a very fine alternative.

H33t is my favorite. They have all kinds of stuff and also it's arranged in such a way that you can easily see what they have. Demonoid is also pretty good, they thing with them is you need an account to download anything.

1337x, limetorrents and kickass are OK, what I don't like is their confusing interphase.

I almost always use http://torrentz.eu/ now to find the torrentz. I prefer to use katproxy.com .

@Fuj & Vasudev - yes, interface is the correct word. Indeed my brain needs Ccleaner   In any case, with sites such as TPB and H33T you simply click what you're looking for at the top (i.e., Windows programs, Android, ebooks etc.) then it gives you a list of what's there, always defaulting to the most recent uploads at the top and working your way down. All easy and very clean.

With 1337x, Kickass and Lime, you see huge lists such as Movies, Anime, TV and often have to struggle to find apps or ebooks. When you do they're never sorted in the right way, and sometimes it doesn't even show how recent the upload is. In Applications they often put Windows, Android and Linux on the same list, which causes confusion.

It katproxy.com the same as kickass.so, only going through a proxy or what?
