Here's an interesting question. Let's say the great minds on our forum (not sarcasm) get together and come up with a great file server. The question now becomes: what do you put on it? We all know the risks of hosting good stuff like warez.

Encrypt connections harddrive, and then put warez on it..? Require invites, no logs etc.

does encrypting really work? Are people misguided by saying encrypted and secure comm etc.? Since NSA or like can decrypt using high end computing devices like quantum computer.

I really doubt they will put in Quantum computers to decrypt someones harddrive. It has to be profitable for them.
And yes, it works to a certain degree. Some gov' controlled company ( THink it was NSA) had contacted Truecrypt wanting them to put a hole in the program for NSA so they could easily get into the drives. I dont remember where I read it, or if it even was Truecrypt. But Yeah.

Yes I've heard it too. Sadly TrueCrypt is not updated anymore.

If what I heard is true, TrueCrypt stopped releasing updates because the "NSA" Contacted them. I guess it is so people dont think they put in code that NSA told them to.

Why doesn't TrueCrypt simply close shop and move away from the USA? That'll get the NSA off their backs.

Like TPB? Doubt it :/

Last I heard TBP was still up and runnning. So are many other torrent sites. They go from country to country and make it next to impossible for the authorities to chase them down. Why would TrueCrypt be any different?

Some people don't see it as efficient. It's just not worth it for some.
