I did some fact-checking. The Corona virus is nothing more than the common cold on steroids. If you have a healthy immune system, your chances of surviving an infection are close to 100%. In fact, the symtoms are not much more than what you'd expect from a severe cold (nasal and pulmonary congestion, fever, body aches and general weakness). Only the very young, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems (e.g. chemotherapy patients) need to be concerned. So far the death toll is only about 3%. Naturally this is not to imply that we should take no steps to prevent a pandemic, but let be realistic an not exaggerate the danger.
That's true. But the coronavirus is spreading much easily and faster than Sars. In China many factory were shut down, for example Foxconn, the phone factory of Apple.

Why U.S. Roads And Highways Are So Bad.
I saw the video and I disagree. Of course there are potholes and other things that need fixing, but it's nowhere near as bad as the video implies. I've driven from Miami to San Antonio and many times to Mexico (my lady is Mexican). I also drove from San Antonio to close to Iowa to see the eclipse 2 years ago. I've rented cars and driven on the highways of California (including LA to Las Vegas.), New York and Michigan. In all this time the highways were in relatively good shape and the number of anomalies were minimal.

I don't know if the video is wrong. But I don't think it is. It just depends on one thing: where you live.
I can assure you that you won't find any potholes on the Champs Elysées or on the busiest French highways (like the A6 and A7) either. But in Saint Etienne there were many potholes. I read an article when I was living other there saying that someone burst a tyre in a pothole while driving in Saint Etienne. I remember Vasudev saying that you had to look at the road when you were driving in India. It was like that in Saint Etienne too, except there were no cows on the roads.
When I read your message I assume you were driving in Texas, Florida, California and New York. Those are not the poorest states of America.

Today, I'm adding a few videos for the users of the forum.

Americans know wealth inequality is a problem, but what does it look like?
According to the latest data, 10% has 90% of the wealth (the richest 1% has 40%), 69% has 10%, and the poorest 20% have less than nothing (they are indebted). It seems that most Americans are not aware of that, but a journalist showed them this hidden reality with an Apple pie.

I said this thing with the coronavirus is exaggerated with respect to its danger to humans. The news media leads you to believe we're dealing with something deadlier then HIV. This does not mean no steps should be taken to contain the pandemic. There are still a minority who are vulnerable.

I don't know if the video is wrong. But I don't think it is.

Once again it's a question of exaggeration. Of course there are potholes on this country's streets and highways. They're just not as prevalent as the video implies. Personally I've seen very few, if any.

The fact that a small minority controls the majority of everything has been going on since time immemorial, and not just in Amerca. It will continue as long as humanity exists. In the past 100 years or so a strong middle class has emerged. This has put a dent in the severity of the problem. It was far worse before.

As far as the coronovirus and potholes are concerned, you are certainly right. I won't argue about that.

As far as Inequelities are concerned, I don't agree with you. In 2016 a report claimed that income inequality had reached a new global extreme, exceeding even its predictions from the previous year. The figures behind this claim were striking – just 62 individuals held the same wealth as the bottom half of humanity, compared with 80 in 2014 and 388 in 2010.
In 2019, the growing concentration of the world’s wealth has been highlighted by a report showing that the 26 richest billionaires own as many assets as the 3.8 billion people who make up the poorest half of the planet’s population.
And it's essentially due to what I call the financial asset bubble. But this wealth is also fragile. Should the stock markets collapse for whatever reason, a significant part of this wealth would evaporate. In July 2018 I put a photo of a beggar in front of the Bataclan. I told you it was probably Mark Zuckerberg (certainly a bad joke). The poor man had just lost 20 billion $ in one day after the rout of facebook in the NYSE.

I was referring to the quality of life for those of us who aren't part of the 3% that control 97% of everything (more or less). Just 100 years ago people toiled endlessly in sweat shops or coal mines and got paid next to nothing. Many children couldn't go to school, and only a small percentage of people even went to college. All this has improved by leaps and bounds, making life much more tolerable for everyone. Even in a place like China things are slowly but surely improving. There is one thing I can absolutely guarantee: no matter how good things may get for the emerging middle class, the uppper 3% will own 97% of everything, always and forever!

Today, some interesting videos are available for the users of the forum.

For Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, there could be a reworking of oil market expectations regarding an “ample” global oil supply, despite expectations U.S. shale oil production could reach 14 million barrels per day in the next few years.
Speaking at a CNBC-moderated panel at the International Petroleum Technology Conference in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain oil minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said an abundant supply of oil, primarily due to U.S. shale production, might not be so reliable moving through 2020.
“Going forward, all eyes are on U.S. production again, if there’s going to be an extra million barrels of production a day, yes, this will suppress oil prices but the current indicators of rig counts … are telling you that maybe that is going to be a challenge,” he told CNBC.
Al Khalifa cautioned there had been few major oil discoveries recently and investment was ebbing: “So we are challenged, I think the future is challenged in terms of supply, more than people expect today”.

First and foremest, here are 2 videos dealing with the perspectives of the equity markets considering their high levels of valuation.
The first one is with David Rosenberg. For him the s&p 500 has been driven mainly buy stock buybacks. But he believes it is not sustainable.

The second one is with Etienne De marsac, who is talking about an "everything bubble". He thinks that equity markets and bond markets have reached dangerous levels of valuation. De Marsac provides his insights on what factors could catalyze a market breakdown, how central banks could begin correcting the global imbalances they have created, and what trades he is making in this risk-on environment.
