Windows XP Support

I never said XP was bad, I said it was old. I've also mentioned many times that people who are stuck with old computers who are financially unable to upgrade must continue with XP. Assuming they're not running some program where they're stuck with Windows or some hardware where no Linux support exists, I feel Linux is a viable alternative because it's safer, more reliable and easier on old systems.

Certainly Micro$haft wants to make money selling Windows 8.1, but that's not the only reason it keeps insisting on upgrading everybody. Any old OS can be upgraded only so far before it has to be rewritten from scratch. The hard fact is that XP is just too old for any system ±5 years old or younger. It is precisely this logic that forced DOS out of existence.

SP3 doesn't exist in a 64 bit variant. Anyway, you're thinking about a 64 bit OS, why even consider XP? Think 7(or higher), not XP.

Otherwise, look for SP2 x64.

You're right. Nobody even writes drivers for XP x64. Why should they? Nobody uses it or should use it.

I suggest you to migrate at least to w7 all softwares and applications runs on Xp
will runs just fine on w7.. i've test...nowadays if run XP you could run on it but
no security updates usually suported by MS through windows update, then your system are
vulnerable to viruses etc...here one of the way to get updates, this link not checked yet.
