Well I would like to tell you I am not wanting WMP 11 for media playing purpose, I need it for the features it provides that are not provided by any other media player like drivers for media devices like my new android phone.
Yes there are some apps available but why will u fill ur pc with some useless apps just for one thing when it is already available in ur OS.

And I also don't like tweaking softwares they are just junk the features they provide can be done without them you just need to learn the other way by internet.

Well I m not the only one who likes WMP11 there are many netizens who like it even when powerful media players like potplayer, kmp,gom,bs,mpc xbmc etc etc. are present. And also I prefer potplayer & MPC over vlc

I can understand you'd want WMP installed because some other players depend on its engine. What I don't understand is what does WMP have to do with Android. And what's this about drivers for Android? You don't need them. All you do is enable USB debugging and plug the device into the computer with a USB cable. Windows will immediately create an ADB bridge that'll allow you to transfer files back and forth seamlessly. Naturally I refer to Windows 7 or higher, I don't know if you can do this with XP. I know this well because I have 3 Android devices.

try mx player as it already includes drivers for playing media on android phone(s).

As for me, i use VLC media Player instead of WMP. There are certain file types that WPM cannot Play or Open.

Just installed XP on my netbook.  I installed updated via the auto update utilty as well as the Microsoft Update page (including some of the optional updates).  Im wondering if this was a mistake?  will the microsoft update tool cause problems with the "validity" of this copy of windows XP?

Maherz Xp  is student edition can be installed on unlimited no. of PCs without worrying about activation problems.
