yes net framework updates should be installed. They cant be integrated without sysprep so thats probably why they are missing.

That is because Maher doesn't integrate .NET frameworks in his XP releases, and their updates as a result.
So, if you install .NET frameworks, you can use Windows update to install updates for them and don't worry about Genuine test.. It'll pass because the serial is genuine.

Hello, I have found this torrent that looked like it contains the 2013 january release from here (the description suspiciously looks too much like this one by Maherz from nov 2012).

But the md5 of the ISO of the jan/2013 torrent is 8bb4f654cd13a9bceb1a87318f0bce2f, while the md5 stated on this topic for jan/2013 is EB33EC03506FE4E679F5E53954A532CE.

Is that fake/suspicious? Or just an odd coincidence?

Well since I prefer to install from reputable sources I decided to download from Uploaded anyway.

@htf - about as close to a "reputable source" in the piracy business is Maher. Other than that there's no such thing. If you're looking for something that Maher doesn't have, then you've got to try your luck and look for it elsewhere, and then test it.

Don't worry about the hash not being a perfect match if indeed it came from Maher. Keep in mind that even one byte of difference will throw off the has value. Also, even if you download the November release, not a problem - 2-3 months of updates can be gotten pretty fast.

My concern is that someone is piggybacking on Maher's efforts to create a release that is mostly like his, but with an added virus (but why someone would do this is beyond me). Of course such release would be almost identical short of some key files, and even a bit of difference makes a completely different md5 (which is the point of md5 in the first place)

There is also the possibility that it's a legimitate modification of Maher's release (but a deceptive one anyway) or just a completely different release that happened to reuse his description (again deceptive). It can't be the same release though.

Anyway, thanks for the quick reply :) I will probably compare the the diff between the two to see which files were modified, just for curiosity. And indeed, downloading the nov/2012 isn't that bad.

(btw: now I realize that the torrent contains the url of a forum - that I won't link - that is mostly like Maher's and with similar releases, but without any user posts. Someone is his fan perhaps)

@ htf :)

May be this guy downloaded Maher's Jan 2013 release and modified a file in it or added other files or links to his site, and for that, the hash value is different.

Ahmad is right. Keep in mind even changing a period to a comma in a text file will modify the hash. Just go ahead and test it. If I were you I'd make a full backup of what you have now, then proceed with the installation. In the highly improbably event there's some sort of nasty malware, simply do a full wipe and restore and try again with another copy.

Yoptuse

Hi, I downloaded your October 2012 Win XP Pro (32 - Bit) Version and I would like to know if it is possible to change the language to other than English and if it is, how?

Thnaks and keep the good work,

Yoptuse.
