Hi, I have been busy most of the day but finality had a chance to get back here.

If your existing Ram is DDR PC2700 or PC3200 then your motherboard is most likely an Intel D101GGC with ATI RC410 IGP chipset.

If it is DDR2 then most likely an Intel D102GGC2 with ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 chipset

In either case you will need to use 2x1GB modules not 1x2GB

If you go to the Crucial website and use their System Scanner tool that should confirm my guess or give you the right information and the exact specs for new module/s

http://www.crucial.com/store/drammemory.aspx

Some other suppliers have similar tools and I'm not suggesting you buy their products, just get the info from there

(@ Mods. Noticed this is in Windows XP: Download & Support. Probably better off somewhere else.)  :-[

If I am right about your motherboard being a D102GGC2 or a D101GGC then the most likely result of fitting a 2GB RAM module is that your PC will not boot. (It won't "see" any RAM)
Not a real problem because you can take it back out (the RAM). So test it if you like.  ;D

Go to the Crucial site and use their System Scanner to confirm your MOBO
I cannot be more precise without that info.

You may need the serial if you're doing an upgrade or installing through a virtual machine, but you won't need it if you're doing a fresh installation from boot.

To modify the "Registered to" values, from this key in the registry..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
Look for values: "RegisteredOwner" & "RegisteredOrganization".

To modify the "Manufactured and supported by", from this file..
C:\WINDOWS\system32\oeminfo.ini

First of all, i would like to say that your work is great.

I just tried first time your updated windows xp and it is awesome.
very clean, really updated.

I would like to ask you a question regarding windows xp home edition.
Is there a version of updated windows xp home edition that you have done?

If not, if you're working only with windows XP Professional, i would like to ask, is there a chance to install windows xp professional, and after installation to change a key to home edition key(as i have a sister's laptop which has been bought with windows xp home, so i have a valid key) with some of the key changing softwares available online?
Is it going to accept the key and disable features that are not covered with Home edition, or its going to be unpossible to change it?

Thanks in advance,
Keep up a good work

Best regards,
