No one here has felt a serious increase in food prices. This country produces more than enough to feed it's population. More importantly, the government is well aware that if you don't want a revolution on your hands, make sure the price of food is affordable.

Before my parents passed away they owned a penthouse on Miami Beach not too far from where that place is. Naturally it was nowhere near as luxurious. Even so, despite the fact that it was totally paid off, they had to pay almost $1200 a month in "maintenance" and "assessments" to the condominium association. It's a total ripoff as far as I'm concerned. It took their daughter almost 8 months to sell it after my mother died, and even then at a relatively low price. I would absolutely NEVER live in a place like that, not even for free.

If somebody wants to buy this flat and at this price, then I assume they are not worried by the level of the maintenance fees. It seems 1200$ a month is a significant sum for condominium fees. In Grau du Roi, I had to pay roughly 300 € per quarter. For this price I assume your parents had a swimming pool, some tennis courts, and maybe a golf court (In fact I assume it's just too expensive).

Maybe some of you know the boulevard circulaire in La défense (on the photo you have to turn right to take it).
I went there with my car dozens of times to go to la Défense. There is a huge car park under Les 4 Temps shopping center. To go back to Paris, you have to drive downhill, and you will probably notice the speed radar in the descent (the speed limit is only 50km/h). Note that it's free to park in Neuilly-sur-Seine in August, while parking is charged in Paris.

All it had was a tiny pool. During the nearly 25 years they lived there I never went near it when I visited them. The building was right on the Atlantic, and their apartment had a view of the beach. They used to keep pressuring me to visit them as much as possible. I remember telling my father that one day I would move out of Miami and I would select an inland city where I would NEVER AGAIN see the ocean or bathe in a pool. My opportunity came in 2011 when I finally found a buyer for my house.
