I'm not surprised everybody wants out of LA. It's crowded and expensive. Warm weather? If you compare it to somewhere in Canada, I agree. But it's NOT warm when compared to Miami, let alone Key West.

Rats in the Eiffel Tower? I didn't see any the day I visited it. Even so, the only reason they flourish in cities is because humans shower them with food. Like all living things, they go where food is. I also agree they're very misunderstood animals. They attack humans (or anything else) only when they feel threatened. Also, don't blame them for bubonic plague. It is the flea that lives on the rat (or any mammal) that was the vector for the bacteria that cause bubonic plague.

Those rats are not at the summit of the Eiffel tower of course, they are in the nearby "champs de mars", (because there is rubbish) a large public greenspace located between the Eiffel Tower to the northwest and the École Militaire to the southeast.
What's more, they usually go out at night, they might be afraid of the crowd.
If you haven't been to the champs de mars, or if you just visited the Trocadero esplanade, chances are you haven't seen any rats indeed.

Scarface, et. al -- Sewers are the ideal place for rats to live. We shower them with everything they need. New York is just as bad, if now worse. In NY they can even dine on cockroaches when human food becomes scarce. They're incredible survivors: they reproduce fast and can eat just about anything.

I only hope I live to see the day that Miami is under water. Sadly I don't think it'll happen in the time I have left. Maybe one day I'll get lucky and the Cumbre Vieja volcano in the Canary Island with fall into the sea. Miami will have just 8 hours of warning time before the massive tsunami hits.

Fortunately there's nothing for me there. All my assets over there are sold and both my parents are deceased. I'll NEVER return there.

History has taught us that to conquer Afghanistan is one thing. Holding it is another matter entirely. In the 1980's the US, Saudia Arabia and others spent billions to oust the Soviet Union. All this only to install a regime that is far worse when it comes to human rights abuses. Nearly 20 years of combat after 2001 also proved futile. The US and others ended up exactly where they were when they started, if not worse. I believe the only thing the outside world can do is seal the country off and let the Afghans fend for themselves.

I didn't watch the video but logic dictates either this documentary is just a conspiracy theory or the scientists working there don't know what they're doing. Covid has close to a 96% survival rate AND it would be a matter of time before a vaccine was developed. These people have enough brains to realize that if the idea is to make trouble, they'd be better off creating a modified version of Ebola. They also forgot that there are stockpiles of smallpox still left over. Creating a modified version of smallpox resistant to today's vaccines would also create major problems. It must also be noted that the pandemic is essentially over, and lasted only about 2 years.
