According to the lastest news, Microsoft will support Win Xp until 14/7/2015 (because of malware and time for business to update). And Maher is still updating it, isn't he?  ;)

Not quite the full story - they are updating the MSE virus signatures, not XP itself (unless you pay megabucks, of course ::))

Hey there,

There was a post last year (quoted below). I see the solution to installing properly, but I can't figure out how to fix this part, if you have a moment to help out :)

when i press OK, the system will reboot and will go on a loop just like this. I don't know how to solve this. I've went through various forums and it seems that most of them haven't found the answers yet. I thought you can help me with this. I can't use my laptop now even if i run it in safe mode.

Greetings Mr. Mahel!

I'm new here in your site and I recently downloaded your Windows XP SP3 May edition (the first one that comes out when you search it to TPB). As I view the comments there, no one has ever encountered the same problem as I did. I downloaded the ISO, burnt it, and installed it. But for some reasons, I'm getting this error saying that "SETUPORG.exe does not exist in the i386 folder on UXPCD". There's a RETRY and SKIP options and technically, i will choose the SKIP button. The installation will finish but when the computer reboots itself, it won't continue saying that there's a missing file.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\presetup.cmd - FILE NOT FOUND!
C:\WINDOWS\system32\setupORG.exe - FILE NOT FOUND!
(setupORG.exe - > Original windows Setup.exe)

POSSIBLE CAUSE:
1. "Presetup.cmd" not exist in the i386 folder on UXPCD
    "setupORG.exe" not exist in the i386 folder on UXPCD

2. Check your "Txtsetup.sif" in the i386 folder on UXPCD
---Txtsetup.sif: -------------------------------------
[SourceDisksFiles]
setupORG.exe = 1,,,,,,,2,0,0; must exist
presetup.cmd = 1,,,,,,,2,0,0; must exist
--------------------------------------------------------

xpsupport:

1. I would check the hashes of the ISO file.
2. If OK, I would burn it again to another CD and try again.
3. If not OK, I would make a bootable USB - using YUMI - and try with that.
4. If not OK, I would download another, later ISO and try with that one.

I've never had a problem with these ISOs - 4 or 5 used.

Oh, but they will die, or more precisely, fade into the dustbin of history. XP is headed for extinction and will so go the way of Windows 95, 98 and ME.

It will, believe me. Old hardware dies sooner or later... and when it does, XP will go down with it. Not that it's not a good OS, it's just that time will dominate as always. Even windows 7 will become obsolete at a certain point. Until then, we have Maher to untegrate windows updates for us. :)

But not yet.
Not yet.

The clock is ticking. Unless you're stuck with an old system that can't run Windows 7 or 8, make preparations now. Believe me, the future will be here before you know it.

Hello again. I come with a question and it's mostly directed at Maher. I really appreciate your work on windows XP, integrating updates and stuff, but could you also integrate the damn .NETs in the .iso? It's kinda frustrating having to wait for those oldass PCs to install .NETs by themselves, even though I have the install packages on a flash stick. You're already doing an amazing job integrating all the released stuff into the .iso and I know it's not something one can do in 5 minutes, but I really hope .NETs become part of the your .iso images.

Best regards. :)
