Question: is it ok if I just delete the $OEM$ folder from the USB drive instead if installing XP and then using the included .reg file? Talking about this:

wallofasgard -> Welcome aboard. Out of curiosity alone, is that a pic of you or just an avatar? Also, you said "he/she" - notice that on the left under the avatar you'll find a â™, or ♀ according to that person's gender.

Why in the world do you want to run XP? Are you stuck with an old system with little possibility of upgrading?

My profile picture is just an avatar. :)

I still want to use XP because i'm really used to it  and most of my softwares and old games are compatible with XP.What i like most about XP is it consumes little resources so it will definitely run on old system which i use as of the moment.Personally, i like XP and Win7 for my daily computer usage.

Thanks for clarifying the gender icon on the avatar.  :)

@Shadow -> Who writes those XP updates? If it's that easy to solve, then why are so many people complaining about no more XP updates?

wallofasgard -> What computer hardware do you have than prompts you to insist on XP?

Uhmm...because it only have 2GB of RAM and Nvidia Video Card which are merely 5 or 6 years old...it was not the hardware itself but what insists me on using XP are my old softwares, programs and lots of Visual Novels that i love which are most compatible with XP. :)

Couple of days ago I read some "microsoft statement" (atleast the artical says it's from microsoft) which explains why this reg hack isn't very healthy for XP machines as the updates are written for server 2003 and something else, but not for XP SP3. This is why people should use stuff like Maher's release for a clean install and then turn off updates completely.

P.S. Here it is, after some googling:
QuoteWhen ZDNet ran news of the hack and confirmed that it worked, Microsoft contacted ZDNet and issued the following statement:

The security updates that could be installed are intended for Windows Embedded and Windows Server 2003 customers and do not fully protect Windows XP customers. Windows XP customers also run a significant risk of functionality issues with their machines if they install these updates, as they are not tested against Windows XP. The best way for Windows XP customers to protect their systems is to upgrade to a more modern operating system, like Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

As I understand it, this is the actual updates for windows 2003 or something like that, and the updates work for XP too. I actually am not sure.
