Well, you can try to install one of those drivers:
https://driverpack.io/fr/devices/sound/intel/soundmax-integrated-digital-audio

By seaching the ID number, I stumbled upon this:

umh no....unfortunately is not working... driverpack is working... but the audio device continue to have problems. I mean, driverpack seems to upgrade avery type of driver...but not the audio device...

How old (or new) is this hardware? Are these drivers even available for download anywhere? If it's too new I doubt they'd be wasting their developers time in writing drivers for an old, outdated OS like XP.

I installed this and the OS seems to be running OK. But I keep getting a message saying that some Windows System Files have been changed and asking me to insert an XP CD to correct the issue. What can I do about this.

Hi Janet.
Maybe you can try to send a pm to shhnedo, we haven't seen him for a while (last active on September 11 2018).
Or you can try to do it yourself: If I remember well, you have to tinker with sfc_os.dll for this kind of message. You'll find here how to do that: https://msfn.org/board/topic/110834-disable-xp-sfcwfp-works-with-sp3/

If it's too difficult, you can do it with nlite on shhnedo's OS by patching sfc_os.dll. But you'll have to reinstall it then.

To Janet:
Here is a patched sfc_os.dll for xp sp3: https://ufile.io/burh8n3d
You can take it and replace your own file to solve the problem.
