Quote from: Vasudev on August 25, 2025, 03:38 PMThat's great to hear. For me it was opposite the stock ISO with July Updates failed repeatedly with "Something went wrong. Try again later!" and had to use my custom edition with same July update which took 3hrs to install on battery power.

It would be great if the issue were limited to only OS upgrades. More often than not a "cumulative update" comes down the pipe, and you get this message that says "Something went wrong, undoing changes". The worst part is that the OS doesn't learn that the upgrade won't install. It tries again and again, only to get the same results. Your only choice is to shut down Windows Updates.
Faced this issue on September updates and refused to install. It seems /ResetBase still causing problems.

Updated the 24H2 with September Patches and 90% of the tweaks has been migrated to unattended xml file which is helpful on clean install and now installs all packages using the cmd/ps1 generated by AI. Took me hours to debug and fix scripts getting stuck without timeouts but all good know. Managed to reduce the image size by 200MB from 5.2GB to 5GB.

Windows 11 24H2 ISOWindows 11 24H2 SHA256 Checksum

You can rename the autoattended.xml to some other name (prefix by random alphabet) to do upgrade in-place keeping existing files and apps.
As always Edge is removed so Brave is installed and this time I went with Irfanview instead of Faststone image viewer for licensing issues when used commercially. It looks for WinApps folder to install offline content if present otherwise fetches latest versions through winget or powershell.

Tonight, some photos taken in Lyon are available on the forum.
You are going to see some photos of the Museum of the confluences (musée des confluences)

Some photos of the museum

The Musée des Confluences is located in Lyon at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers.

There are some barges on the Rhône river.

At the front of the museum, you can see the skyline of Lyon

In the museum there are several expositions.
In the exposition "society human theatre", there is a 1908 BERLIET C2 22 HP Double Phaéton.

The brand name Berliet is well known for its excellent vans and trucks. The company started to make passenger cars already in 1899. After WWI truck production gained importance compared to passenger cars and after WWII the company focussed exclusively on commercial and utility vehicles. The company was bought by Citroën in 1967 and again in 1974 by Renault. Soon Berliet merged with Saviem to become Renault Véhicules Industriels (RVI) in 1978 and the famous brand name Berliet disappeared for good.

In another room, the exposition "Origins - Stories of the World" explores the question of the origins of life, by transporting visitors through time, from the appearance of humans to that of life itself and all the way back to the formation of the universe.
Two approaches to the question of origins run side by side: one based on palaeontology, the natural sciences, physics and chemistry; the other based on human sciences and illustrated through ethnographic collections and contemporary works. Engaged in a constant conversation throughout the exhibition, the two approaches become profoundly complementary. The Museum's treasures include mammoth and dinosaur skeletons.

The masterpiece of this exposition is the mammoth of Choulans. Discovered in 1859 on the Montée de Choulans in Lyon, and still fresh in the memories of visitors to the former Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle (natural history museum), this mammoth lived at a time when Alpine glaciers still covered Lyon.

There are several dinosaurs.

Vasudev and shadow.97 may have noticed that this mosasaurs doesn't look friendly.

This is the kingdom of the ammonites.

This is the exit of the museum. It boasts a peculiar architecture.

A photo taken on the place Bellecour, in Lyon. You can see the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière.

Here is place de la République, in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon. This is a vibrant square located in the heart of Lyon, France. Renowned for its beautiful classical architecture and impressive central fountain, it serves as a focal point for both locals and visitors.

In the town of Phoenix, thousands of homeless people are wandering in the streets. It turns out that many of them are elderly. There is no doubt that the current competent and trustworthy American administration, which cares about the price of groceries as well as the future of the citizens, will tackle this issue to promote true equality. This documentary reveals sad but true tales of those living in the United States.

Today, I'm gonna give you a quick insight into the stock markets.

French shares are dropping today, with investors fretting that Prime Minister François Bayrou's government will collapse within weeks after it called a make-or-break confidence vote.

Paris's flagship CAC 40 index is tumbling 1.7% in morning trading. Aerospace and defense manufacturer Safran, energy management company Schneider Electric, oil major TotalEnergies, bank BNP Paribas and Societe General are among the stocks trading in the red.

I took the opportunity to buy some stocks. Actually, I bought some Française des jeux (FDJU) stocks. The company is constantly paying a dividend, even if it will probably decrease next year.
FDJ had a rough year and its share already slipped by more than 10% late July after the French gaming company called its current fiscal year one of "transition" and analysts flagged "few catalysts" on the horizon.
La Francaise des Jeux recently launched a takeover offer to buy Swedish online peer Kindred Group, the owner of the Unibet website.  If we consider that the next dividend will be around 1,5 €, the stock is not very expensive at the current price of 27,3€.

I downloaded an ISO straight from M$, mounted it and pressed setup.exe - it took forever to install but it finally did. I'm not sure why Vasudev's ISO didn't work, but I'm thinking I may have put in on a drive other then C:

They're saying support for 23H2 ends November 10. They're probably back up the date, but at least I upgraded.

Quote from: humbert on August 17, 2025, 04:22 AMSo the first photo is uncooked pork, just like you got it at the supermarket. OK. How do you cook it in s stockpot? Do you boil it in hot water or what? For how long?

The last photo looks like an awful lot of food. Do you eat it all in a single sitting? I'm asking because the potatoes can fill you up pretty fast.

Actually, it can be grilled in a saucepan, but for such a big sausage, it's more convenient to boil it in a stockpot. It was cooked for 20 minutes. Pork meat must be well cooked, so if it's still pink when you cut it, then the sausage requires additional cooking.

It's a pretty substantial meal indeed. I didn't eat everything, and the rest was put in the fridge. Note that the photo can be misleading since fingerlings are small potatoes. They are considered as healthier than regular potatoes because they have a lower glycemic index. They are a bit more expensive too.

Now I assume that humbert's guests can be picky. Imagine that shadow.97 or Vasudev are not eating their fingerlings. Then you can use a decisive argument by telling them that the cheese will be served for those who are eating their potatoes.
In the photo below, you can see a very old camembert. This one is very smelly. It's probably the kind of cheese that Maher and aa1234779 appreciate. Cambembert is not allowed in the USA because it's made of unpasteurized milk. However, you can probably find some Roquefort, an excellent cheese. It's made of raw milk too, but in the USA a cheese made of raw milk is legal if it is aged for more than 60 days and Roquefort is aged for at least 5 months.
