With respect to the heat in Europe, I suppose misery loves company  . A few days ago the temp here went up to an incredible 43°C, just one degree below the all-time record. In the mean time my A/C runs nonstop and my electric bill is through the roof. Scarface, where did you say you live? I'd like to check the weather there.

Regarding the video about nuclear power plants, the fear people have is beyond reality. Nuclear plants are FAR more beneficial than harmful. They can provide an almost unlimited amount of energy without using fossil fuels which contribute to climate change and will eventually run out. And of course, the technology is getting better by the day. The disaster at Chernobyl happened because of human error and, more importantly, these Russian idiots didn't bother to install a containment building where the reactors are housed.

Regarding this backpacker lost in Egypt, who in their right mind goes backpacking in a place like Cairo? Does this guy even speak Arabic? He probably decided to explore the Sahara Desert - in the middle of summer.

If you want to reduce your electricity bill, I advise you to use a fan instead of an air conditioner. Despite the hot weather here (and I have an air conditioner), I only use a small fan. Fans can make you feel cooler because they encourage moisture from your skin to evaporate.

Well, He first visited several countries of eastern Europe, notably the Baltic states and then headed south to Turkey and Egypt. In Cairo he was living in a youth hostel. He was a student at la Sorbonne in Paris.
He was probably not speaking Arabic. In one of his last messages he was saying that he was happy to be in Cairo and that he was dazzled by the town. After he vanished, It was found that his bank account was emptied in Cairo on 7 August 2021 (maybe a few hundred euros).

I have 4 fans and I use them quite a bit. When temps are 37° to 42° day after day, a fan alone won't do. The walls are very hot and the heat is unbearable. Fans help only when the A/C is turned on. Otherwise it just blows hot air.

This is highly unusual. A typical robber or mugger would have attacked to steal the backpack or whatever else he may have been carrying. Unless, of course, the supposed assailants saw his bank card, forced him to disclose his PIN, then visited the nearest ATM. People who would attack a backpacker aren't pro's. Would they even know how to hide the body if they killed him? And why even bother to kill a simple backpacker who isn't rich and hasn't done anything to anybody? Maybe he decided to disappear.
