On Sunday, April 3 2011,the count Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès and Agnès—along with Benoît, Anne, and Arthur went to the cinema to watch the movie Rango and then enjoyed a meal at a nearby restaurant.
During this final outing, just before she disappeared, 48-year-old Agnès Dupont de Ligonnès enjoyed a white Martini as an aperitif. She also asked for ice cubes. At the Le Charolais Grill in Saint-Herblain near Nantes, the Dupont de Ligonnès family was known as a group of "well-to-do customers." Arriving around 8:30 p.m. that evening, the count Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès—now known to have been riddled with debt—along with Agnès and three of the four children, all "well-dressed as always," enjoyed a hearty beef dinner. Xavier and Agnès also shared "a good bottle of wine" before settling the 136€ bill. Then they left the restaurant around 9:45 p.m. The next day, their weekly routine awaited them: school for the children, work for Agnès... Or so they believed.
After this family outing, everyone returned home, and the count Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès sent a message to the sister, Christine. She did not reply, however, due to the late hour and Xavier left a voicemail message: "We were out at the movies and then at a restaurant—on a Sunday evening!—and we've just got back, so... well... It's a bit late to call, and now I see you're on voicemail. Anyway, sending you a hug... If it's not too late, give me a call or send a quick text and I'll call you back. Right now, I'm going to put the kids to bed and say goodnight to everyone. See you soon! Maybe..." Xavier said. At 10pm Anne sent a message to a friend on the computer. It will be the last message. At 3 am the respiratory device that Agnès was using stopped functioning. The murders probably took place during the night.
On April 5, Thomas, who was a musicology student at the Catholic University of Angers had dinner  with the count Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès at a gourmet restaurant on the outskirts of the city. Xavier had urged him to come home, claiming that Agnès was in the hospital for a minor issue following a bicycle accident.
On April 21, following a report from relatives worried about their sudden disappearance, Agnès, Benoît, Thomas, Anne, and Arthur were found shot dead, wrapped in bedsheets and burlap, covered in lime, in a pit dug beneath their home's terrace. Thomas, who lay in an adjacent hole, appears to have outlived them for a few days. But the master of the family, the count Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès was not present. What happened?

On April 21st 1945, the Soviets reached the city of Berlin. The third Reich was threatened and it was time for Operation Seraglio: it was necessary to evacuate the Fuhrer's inner circle and transport important documents to a command center in Southern Germany. The last of the aircrafts, carrying the original shorthand notes of the Fuhrer's 'table talks' from 1942, took off on 23 April and was shot down by an Allied night-fighter over a forested area of Bavaria. When the wreckage was discovered, the 10 metal trunks it was carrying were gone.
What exactly was in those metal trunks remained a mystery for decades. But in 1983, an antiques dealer claimed to be in possession of a set of the lost diaries supposedly written by the Fuhrer.
Those diaries were of utmost historical significance. But were they real?
