Maybe your ISP isn't one of them ? Or do you just always go there with a proxy ?
Those who are using RELIANCE Internet are facing those bans.
I got lucky ;D

What ban :-\
Sorry I didn't get you!! :-[
It's not The Pirate Bay
It's The Hydra Bay
I like both the names. :D

Are you saying they renamed TPB to the Hydra Bay, using another IP address and everything? I gotta get on there and see what's happening. Also, what exactly is RELIANCE as you said in another post?

When will these politicians understand there is NO way to truly restrict internet access? Do they not realize that from its very inception, what we know today as the internet was designed precisely to withstand a nuclear attack? The powers that be are fighting a war they have no chance of winning.

Unfortunately with TPB handling 50% of public torrents, it's nothing like a hydra  :(

Last time I used MediaFire for a large d/l (Win7(32)) I got around 200kb/s each with parallel d/ls.
Also strait in, no wait, no captcha.
See attachment.
Also being selfish, here (NZ) torrents are monitored with a three strikes lose you IP account law.

What I'd like to know is how you accomplished what you did in the screenshot, which only shows the end result but not how you did it. How did you get around captchas and waits, and how did you accomplish parallel downloads? Was it that you logged in several times masking your IP address, or if not, then what?

Also, are those pieces of the OS cut apart and put back together with Winrar, or is another proggied being used for that purpose?

@ humbert
With MF there is no waiting, no  captchas and parallel d/l are allowed even for unregistered users
(or at lest that was the case last time I used MF but these thing change all the time with cyber lockers).
Also I'm not advocating for MF, anything that easy and free sets my poachers hair on end,
but then I'm just paranoid from a life time in the green/blackmarket.
As for  the Win 7 file I asume it needs Winrar but because it's for a pc that hasn't arrived yet, I haven't tried unpacking it.
Am still using XP on this one.

(LOL just noticed I d/led the 32 bit version, wanted 64. Oh well, never mind)

Yes, as I was telling Ahmad, I leeched the copy of Ghost he uploaded to Mediafire and I was able to grab it without the slightest problem. Clearly they cannot be confused with the Rapidshares and all those others.

What exactly are you afraid of?

Incidentally, I love that freesmileys site you mentioned. I opened it up in another tab and, quite frankly, I had no idea something like that even existed. Thanks for the tip. There isn't a time when I turn my computer on that I don't learn something new -- and realize how little I really know.

Bladeshark: Regarding your post about restricting the internet, I was reading all about it on Suprbay the other night. Clearly there is one thing happening here: simply that these profiteers don't seem to understand the fact that they themselves don't even understand what they're trying to restrict. You don't have to be an Einstein to realize that, no matter how well you're armed or how strong you may be, if your enemy knows more than you do, you don't stand a chance.

I might also mention that this sort of thing is by no means new. The first time a similar case reached the courts was back in the 1920's in the US when radio got started. The singers and their profiteering organizations sued the stations for copyright enfringement, i.e., they were playing their songs on the radio.

I can't really pinpoint a solid reason for how I feel about MF, thats why I included the "anything that easy and free sets my poachers hair on end" and "I'm just paranoid" comments. I suspect they already have an "exit strategy" arranged for when Big Brother go's after them and it will involve someone else being left holding the can. Propably uploaders and maybe downloaders. But this is not evidence based reasoning.

Do a search for "free smileys" there are many such sites.  FreeSmileys.org is the easiest for me to navigate with a reasonable range.

I hope they lift the ban as early as possible.

I wouldn't be all that afraid. You might want to take precautions if you were hosting a [for example] torrent site in NZ where their police will easily grab you. But for simply being a user and leeching some pirated stuff? I seriously doubt it. No police force on the planet has the resources to go into everyone's house and search everyone's computers to see if there's pirated stuff on there. Not only do they lack they resources, they're just too busy chasing down people who commit much more serious crimes. If that weren't the case, they do you see on the news every once a year that a 12 year old kid was arrested for downloading a song? Simply because the only weapon they have that might have some effect is fear. Governments have used it since day one. As I see it, if they could effectively do as I said, why put this stuff on TV at all?

Absolutely true. On Google you can search for "dog tihs(L<-R)" and you'll find someone talking about it or even selling it.  :)

Yo Bladeshark: What ban are you referring to? The one in India for TPB? If so, I thought you already got around that. Even here in America there is no such ban. They know people will get around it immediately, so why even bother? In a way it remind me of what Bill Gate$ said back in the early 1990's and followed through with it until XP came out - "what's the point for Microsoft to invest money in copy-protection schemes that will promptly be broken?" Of course you know his real motives, which clearly succeeded.
