Thank you so much. It's as if you knew exactly how I feel about attaching the name "Saudi" to my beloved country!

I course I know how you feel. It's bad enough that they establish a totalitarian state in the name of Islam. It's even worse that they decided to attach their name to the country. In other words, they and not the people own the country. This is also why I pointed out in another post that calling you a "Saudi citizen" is a personal insult.

Although I realize it will be the people who decide on a name, I'm thinking "Arabia" is not bad. After all, your country occupies the lion's share of the Arabian peninsula. I don't see why any other nation would object.

They did it. The ones that ordered it are probably in the palaces while these slaves are going down for a crime they were ordered to commit. The swift death penalty that will probably be served to them is to shut them up on who gave the orders.

It's hard to believe to what lengths the house of Saud will go to keep themselves in power. MBS probably thinks the world will actually believe his story of these people acting alone. Dictators often get to the point where they believe their own lies and propaganda. Trump is another classic example.

After exposing a Saudi sponsored piece of s*** operating out of Paris to hurt the opposition movement in London, Twitter restricted my access for the remaining 10 hours.

I can't tweet, retweet, or like anything.

Armies of bots reported my account.  :(

In France but also in Greece, Iceland, Belgium and Spain, we met citizens who are working to insert more democracy in their daily lives. Here is, in 90 minutes, the result of this adventure to try to grasp what this word contains.

Being a slave to the machine or system is relative.
I don't claim to be innocent of that, as corrupt civilization took over my soul till a breaking point came through the Quran to be truthful.
Since then I've been dangling below and above 50% 'slave' to the system.
I pray to be free completely one day. That's the personal "inner self Jihad" that we should all take up no matter what our beliefs are.
BTW, before, you commented on one of my youtube videos saying that I said "Jihad".
I was talking about the best Jihad, a word of justice or righteousness in the face of tyrants. Something like the "yellow vest" movement.

p.s. "They live" "The Matrix" and "V for Vendetta" were always on my top 10 list of best movies.

Actually, I didn't really like The Matrix, even if I put a streaming link for this movie a few weeks ago.
Maybe both of us are too old to fight with guns and machetes anyway. But without violence, will there be any change?

Tonight, a few new videos are available.

The yellow vests are out for the 10th consecutive weekend of protests.

This time, it’s not IAM, it is the rap of Melenchon, in French with English subtitles.

I remember that I saw him in the street in front of the Bnp bank, near the Guy Moquet metro station in Paris in June 2017, while he was holding a conference.

A short video about giant tarantulas.

the species range

Note that tarantulas are not the deadliest predator. Against all odds, it is the mosquito.

Well, I want to add a few things.
If so many interesting photos are available on the forum, it’s partly due to my father. And you have to thank him.
In this post, it’s him, during a party for his 70th birthday in July, 5 months before his death. He’s not receiving the Pulitzer price, just a gift.

For example, it was he who wanted to visit the Invalides. He already knew this museum because he was very cultured.

Maybe some of you know the battle of the bridge of Arcole.
In front of this model, he told me that the French army was far outnumbered by the Austrian forces.

But Napoleon Bonaparte decided to lead his troops over the bridge of Arcole: He ran to the bridge to make another effort (the first time Augereau failed and later Napoleon would say “The  marshal had long since ceased to be a soldier; his courage, his first virtues, had raised him very high out of the crowd"), then seized a flag, brought back his troops, rushed toward the enemy between the bullets and screamed “soldiers, follow your general !”
For three days the positions of Arcole were subjected to a bloody struggle; but at last the skill of the maneuvers of Bonaparte prevailed, and the Austrian general withdrew in a disorderly fashion to Montebello after losing twelve thousand soldiers and six thousand prisoners.

We aren't too old to fight with weapons.
Personally, I prefer to live a peaceful life till the last heartbeat.
I wish that I never have to use a firearm or any other means whether in self-defense or whatever to injure or kill anyone.
Violence should always be the last resort, even when defending one's self.
Smart negotiations could be enough 'sometimes' to fend off enemies.
But there is never a perfect scenario to change, unfortunately.
The French Revolution is a great example to that.

Naturally I agree with what you posted. I'd just like to add the fact that, as you say, there are many times when "change" takes place and people end up in a far worse situation than the one that preceded it. Examples are my native Cuba, Iran, Nicaragua and of course Afghanistan. I am fearful this might also happen in Syria. We all know Assad and Putin are bad. Unfortunately many of their enemies are much worse.

A few minutes ago, I saw a clip on Aljazeera of police arresting yellow vest ppl.
There were also clashes and tear gas.
What I didn't like is seeing glass from a bus stop shattered all over the ground.
Public property should not be destroyed. It's the ownership of everyone.
Anarchists, sometimes sent by intel, infiltrate protests and destroy the image of a movement, either intentionally or unintentionally, by some childish behaviors.
Leaders should instruct protestors to keep these idiots in-line.

Maybe they have no other choice since the governement is not tackling such issues as inequalities, unemployment, pollution. But is it able to do this?

Here is another good video, unfortunately in French.
Philosophizing about the end of the world at the time of the ecological crisis is what Adèle Van Reeth, Producer of the Paths of Philosophy at France Culture, is doing with the philosophers Dominique Bourg and Cynthia Fleury.
