Tonight, a new movie, titled Madrid 1987, and released in 2011 is available on the forum.

Storyline: Madrid, 1987 is a two-character verbose dissertation on writing, careerism, aging and politics. Shot mostly within a very constricted space, the story follows an older, celebrated journalist Miguel (José Sacristán) who meets the beautiful and coy journalism-student Angela (María Valverde) to give an interview - but becomes intent upon seducing her. They end up naked in a bathroom, discussing literature, prose and career trajectories ...gradually divulging little insights into their own selves as the audience starts to understand the old journalist's cynicism and the young protegé's intentions.

Tonight, another movie, titled Osama, and released in 2003, is available on the forum.
Unlike many movies on the forum, this one is not American but Afghan. The film was shot in Dari and in case you don't understand this language there are English subtitles.

Storyline:  After the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan and the restriction of women in public life, a girl is forced to masquerade as a boy in order to find work to support her mother and grandmother.

Seeing that you seem to be quite into movies, are you also into books?

I've been trying to force myself to read more. It's not going well. I need to increase my reading comprehension to learn to take in information in a more effective way.

I picked up 'Before the coffee gets cold' yesterday and started reading.
After 14 pages. Including white pages, I had to recap multiple times to make sure I wasnt missing important details.
I also keep zoning out and having to re-read pages due to that. It does get tiring. But I need it.

If any members are avid book readers with information I could see a need for a new topic to be created. For now I feel it's OK to be here, as many times books and movies go hand-in-hand.

I used to read when I was younger, but unfortunately I stopped reading altogether (I read newspapers insted).
I liked geography books, the books of Emile Zola (Les Rougon-Macquart series) and notably "the Beast within", a book that you should try. I used to read some books of Agatha Christie too, like "Ten little niggers" or "Evil under the sun", I have the latter in English among the few book I keep with me, an excellent book. If you can read books in Spanish like me, I advise you to read "La noche boca arriba" and La puerta condenada" by Julio Cortazar. Finally, I advise you to read The Metamorphosis By Kafka.
And If you aren't afraid of getting bored, you can also try the remains of the day of Kazuo Ishiguro.
Note that I can't stand Proust who is heavy, prolix and wearisome. But if you like the wordy style, you can try "In Search of Lost Time", a novel in 7 volumes.

Tonight, Another movie, titled Le Chien (the dog), and released in 2007, is available on the forum.

Ripped by me. In French with English subtitles.

Note that this movie might not be suitable for every user of the forum because there is nudity. I'm thinking about Ahmad, usman, aa1234779 or shadow.97.

Storyline:
Kevin is a singular young man with sometimes dangerous behavior. He lives with Jean-Claude in a secluded farmhouse amidst a resplendent nature. The two men cohabit in confusing muteness. When Michèle meets Jean-Claude, she sees in him a passing lover. But when Kévin appears, Michèle sees the chance to give meaning to her own life. The confined rural setting and small cast (comprising just three actors) give the film a brutally oppressive feel that lends a sinister underbelly to the complex relationship between the three characters. The film has elements of psycho-thriller and dark erotica, yet it is fundamentally about three emotionally crippled people trying to understand one another - the seemingly retarded young man, his strangely detached stepfather and the seductive interloper who seems to think that sex is the solution to every problem.
