Problem after install of Maher XP Pro (May 2013) - BSOD 0x7b after restart

Hardware
MSI Z77 MPower LGS1155 (Intel chipset), i5 3.3 Ghz processer.
2 80GB WD SATA mirrored hard drives (via RAID 1 in BIOS). These are old (2006) identical drives for 'testing'.
8GB DDR3 1600 Mhz RAM

RAID via BIOS sets up ok, save setting then set HD controller to AHCI.
XP pro loads fine to completion, restart yields BSOD 0x7b.
Tried controller setting using IDE instead of AHCI, same results (ox7b)
Tried deleting and recreating RAID with both AHCI and IDE settings, same results (ox7b).

Any thoughts on what is causing the BSOD 0x7b stop? I know the Maher XP Pro iso has the needed SATA drivers for most boards (mine is IH7). I assume it's some driver related issue. I have a hard time believing it's the RAID configuration outright ,since Windows setup should just see a single drive presented for install...or am I missing something there?
Any inputs/ideas appreciated :)

a raid specialist? I like that.
I wont answer you about xp, other experts here will do, but not choosing an x64 windows 7 edition with such demonic configuration is an act of sacrilege.
Also If you have an i5 and 8gb of ram perhaps you should afford an hybrid momentus, 80% faster than standard 7200 rpm: http://www.rue-montgallet.com/prix/acheter,seagate-320go-7200-rpm-s-ata-momentus-xt,721771
I keep an eye on it but Im broke. in paris working isnt enough to live.

heu, excuse the mix-up, if you have raid, you dont have a laptop.

The 2 80 Gig drives are for testing. The end goal is to use 2 500 Gig Hitachi drives in the mirror setup. Currently one is in use until the 80 Gig pair 'test' is successful.
I am currently in the process of securing Windows 7 as it is looking like the XP PRO endeavor may fail.

maybe read this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103 and specially
"You are installing Windows XP on a mirrored boot partition that was created by Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. Windows XP does not support Windows NT 4.0 Ftdisk volume sets. If you are running Microsoft Windows 2000, you must convert all Ftdisk volume sets to dynamic volumes before you upgrade to Windows XP. If you are running Windows NT 4.0, break any mirrors and back up all the data on the stripe, the RAID5, or the extended volume sets before you upgrade to Windows XP. Ftdisk sets might not be accessible after the upgrade."

Im sure your raid is the source of the problem.
Anyway for me raids are useless and energy consuming unless you need to have your data saved instantaneously. And as electricity price will at least probably double in the next ten years, perhaps you had better use a simple config

Hello Malena :)
This is Windows XP x86 edition.
Maher doesn't do Windows XP x64. However, he uploads Windows 7 both editions (x86 & x64).

Update on previous post issue:
"Problem after install of Maher XP Pro (May 2013) - BSOD 0x7b after restart"

I went ahead and made the decision to install Windows 7 Ultimate on my 80 GB Mirror (RAID 1) setup.
I mirrored 2 80GB older SATA drives via BIOS as a test. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) Maher (May 2013) without incident. Later I added a 500GB SATA drive and was unable to boot Windows. I removed the drive but the boot error still exists.

I get:
\BOOT\CD
0xc000000e

I tried recovery but no luck. Do I need to re-install Windows AGAIN? Is there some other way to fix the issue.
In regards to questions concerning why I am mirroring, it's just some I want to do at this point, mainly because so I can comprehensively understand the mirroring process and it associated problems,

Inputs/ideas?
