The dream of the newbies is: upload not the .iso but the exctracted files so they be ready for USB, no rufus, no ebolus, no punctoaucdieadtionious. Just plug and install  :'(

Please enlighten me. What is RAR5 and what makes it different from earlier versions?

The latest version of Winrar is 5.21. I downloaded but haven't installed it. The reason is I haven't needed it yet. TC can extract files from rar archives. To compress I just use their 7z plugin. I'm assuming WinRAR 5.21 supports RAR5.

usman-> Normal users only check if winrar is installed and don't bother about about version numbers, if they find problems they would blame s/w developers rather check whether they're using latest ones or older ones.

Regarding Rufus, let me ask my eternal question - does it support any bootable ISO, or is there a list of supported ISO like all the other guys?

Thanks Fuj for reporting this bug & they patched it in version 2.0. I tried burning maherz iso thrice using rufus & the setup just failed at expanding files at 0% or 28% and confirmed that rufus had a bug whilst copying install.wim file as it copies only 4.21GB instead of 4.45GB.
Finally I came up with a fantastic solution, here it goes:

  • Booted HBCD and launched minixp.
  • Fired up WinNTsetup found in "Other" Category and used latest maherz iso to install 7 w/o bootable usb.
  • Process was quick and finished under 30 mins.
