A new torrent client made for mac & linux now comes to windows called transmission available in both 32&64bit platforms.

Description:

Unofficial Windows build of Transmission-Qt, in fact a fork of that project with some corrections, many additions to support the use on Windows better, and modifications to enhance usability -- this means its not exactly Transmission-Qt as released. This project may even disappear when Transmission's own Windows support becomes official.

Transmission is a well known "Fast, Easy, and Free BitTorrent Client", the quote is from their site http://www.transmissionbt.com/
For Windows follow :http://sourceforge.net/projects/trqtw/files/Transmission-Qt/2.8x/
for choosing  32bit:*filename* x86_32
for choosing 64bit:*filename*x86_64

Not recommended if utorrent or similar exist these must be uninstalled before install of Transmission.

Transmission is the default torrent client for all Linux distros I've tried. I tested Transmission and didn't like it, it's just too bland. I removed it and installed qbittorrent, which in my opinion is much better. There's also Qbittorrent for Windows. Check it out at qbittorrent.org.

Many of these torrent clients aren't all that different, with the exception of those that are bloated, such as the paid version of µTorrent,

As for me, Transmission is "just another one torrent client". Comrade Humbert said truth, it's a default torrent client in many Linux distros. I think that's good that there is Transmission for Windows now (multi-platform applications is good thing!) but I can't see an advantages to change my uTorrent.

Removed Diskmax because it caused problems for majority of people who used it.

@iih -> Unlike you, I always test something before I either recommend it or not recommend it. In the case of Transmission, I tested it on Linux and found it a little too bland for my tastes. For this reason I recommended Qbittorrent as an option. I never said Transmission didn't work, it's just too bland for me.

I might ad last time I tested Qbittorrent for Windows, it had an excellent torrent search feature. I'm assuming the program is interpreted and not compiled because it requires Python to be installed.

I seriously doubt my ISP is interfering with my torrents. On big files with many peers, the speed I get is sometimes briefly beyond the maximum I'm paying for.
