For those of you who have Netflix, there's an interesting series on the massive corruption that existed and (I suppose) still exists in FIFA. Both the USA and the UK posted glowing presentations about why they were the best World Cup hosts compared to Russia in 2018 and Qatar today. It didn't matter. Even before their delegations arrived in Switzerland the whole thing was bought and paid for.

BTW is anyone other than me watching the World Cup? I was shocked to hear Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina 2-1. I didn't watch the match, it was at 04:00 my time. I saw the others later in the day.

If they're looking to make big money in the short term, then maybe they're on to something. But in the long term, forget it. Moving away from fossil fuels is no longer just an option, it's an absolute necessity. Just to give you an idea, here in America almost every car ad you see on TV is for an electric car. Dealers sell them as fast as they come in. Last June I ordered a Chevy Bolt (https://www.chevrolet.com/electric/bolt-ev). Here we are almost in December and it's yet to arrive from Chevy. Order still pending.

Vasudev, shadow.97 and humbert may have never heard of Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic 2, released in 1992, was my favorite game on Megadrive (know as Sega Genesis in the US).

I used to love the Sonic movie/serie/show, whatever it was as a kid.    I unfortunately do not have much memory of it. But I never played the games for more than 2-3 minutes.

I've always wondered what WWII was like from the perspective of the German and Japanese people. There have been some movies about this but I hardly believe they're accurate.
