Why did India build the World's Tallest Statue? And who is this? Is it a Buddha? Is it Jesus? Is it John Lennon?

For those of you who have Netflix, there's an interesting series on the massive corruption that existed and (I suppose) still exists in FIFA. Both the USA and the UK posted glowing presentations about why they were the best World Cup hosts compared to Russia in 2018 and Qatar today. It didn't matter. Even before their delegations arrived in Switzerland the whole thing was bought and paid for.

BTW is anyone other than me watching the World Cup? I was shocked to hear Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina 2-1. I didn't watch the match, it was at 04:00 my time. I saw the others later in the day.

Total is one of the five big oil multinationals with over 1,000 subsidiaries producing oil and gas in 130 countries. In 2021, they rebranded themselves as TotalEnergies and claim to want to become a serious player in renewable energy. But can oil giant really be a credible player in the green transition?

In a video posted on the forum, we have previously seen on the forum that Hitler probably had a son, known as Barack Obama. You can find this video here: https://www.nomaher.com/forum/index.php?topic=1020.msg36795#msg36795
If Humbert, as a specialist of German history, cast doubt upon this theory, it turns out that another man claims to be the illegitimate son of Hitler.

If they're looking to make big money in the short term, then maybe they're on to something. But in the long term, forget it. Moving away from fossil fuels is no longer just an option, it's an absolute necessity. Just to give you an idea, here in America almost every car ad you see on TV is for an electric car. Dealers sell them as fast as they come in. Last June I ordered a Chevy Bolt (https://www.chevrolet.com/electric/bolt-ev). Here we are almost in December and it's yet to arrive from Chevy. Order still pending.

History a fascinating subject. Studying it is very important. It's not possible to truly understand a culture unless you know how they got to where they are today. Remember something else: if you control the present, you control the past. If you control the past, you control the future.

COVID: The First 100 Days
The Covid pandemic didn't have to be as bad as it was. With prompt action, it may not have even left Wuhan. Censorship, procrastination and failure to act were the trademarks of the first few months of the COVID-19 outbreak. Policy makers and health agency leaders describe a deadly list of "missed opportunities".
As of today, the population of a big country is still in lockdown due to this virus. It's not the United States. It's not Palestine either. Against all odds, those countries overcame the pandemic and their economy didn't collapse. I'm talking about China.

In 1990, Nintendo dominated the video game industry, holding over 90% of the market. It would be foolish to challenge that dominance, but that's exactly what Sega did. However, its reign at the top was short-lived, as it eventually caused its own downfall with a series of tragic mistakes. Here is the story.
Vasudev, shadow.97 and humbert may have never heard of Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic 2, released in 1992, was my favorite game on Megadrive (know as Sega Genesis in the US).
Note that you can find a HD version of Sonic 2 in the best games topic.

I used to love the Sonic movie/serie/show, whatever it was as a kid.  ;)  I unfortunately do not have much memory of it. But I never played the games for more than 2-3 minutes.
Looks to be Sonic x. But I do not remember the scenes I'm seeing.

You have probably understood that this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XesDygYTmWo was a funny clip. Actually the guy says in German that "Hitler and Eva Braun died in the Fuhrerbunker in 1945 so it's absurd to declare that he fled to Africa and it's stupid to say that he's the father of Barack Obama."

Obviously the video is a joke. Still, the sad thing about history is that it's written by the winners. Much of what really happened has been lost forever.

I've always wondered what WWII was like from the perspective of the German and Japanese people. There have been some movies about this but I hardly believe they're accurate.
